Ummm... I'm a little confused about the ending. Help please :o)

Okay, I just finshed watching it and I'm confused about the end. This is my understanding of it, please correct me where I'm mistaken...
So she tells him the truth and Jason Masters and his manager decide to cover it up, by telling them that they're together. So she's in love with the other guy... so she makes Alexis the girl that he fell in love with but in the end Jason and Alexis are married???? I thought it was just a cover-up, why are they saying that they're married at his performance? Uh, I'm so confused.
I mean, I know this isn't exactly Masterpiece Theater but I would like to understand the ending. I'm a bit confused. Thank you! :o)

I think he married Alexis to save face. Remember how he lied @ what really happened to him, what's him getting married to save face?

That's what I kind of thought but I wasn't sure because it seemed like they made a point of it at the end with her right next to him while singing a love song... I wasn't sure if it was all for show or if they really did fall in love or something. Thanks for your help!

They didn't fall in love.
He goes and this is "Alexis.. *grunt* Masters.."
Like he really hated this situation.

Didn't Jenny(Amanda) say that part except she said "the future mrs. masters" or w/e. She said it to get herself out of the spotlight cause she really wanted to be with her "bestfriend" and if she went along with their lil' "cover up" she would of been stuck in a way. Plus Jason confessed he really liked her(Jenny/Amanda) of course he wasn't happy he thought he was going to get Jenny and the glory.

They are married. And Jason isn't too happy about it. At first I thought they were both just shallow and got married for the hell of it, but it appears he got married to "save face" with the public and his fans, as someone pointed out above. I suppose he could have broken off the engagement, but people might start to question the story that way. Plus, Alexis got to marry the guy she's obsessed with, so it's a good deal for her.

It wasn't very clear though. They could have done something at the end like "Jason and Alexis were divorced within the month", "Jenny and her boyfriend (I forgot his named) lived happily ever after". You know, to tie up loose ends.

Tomorrow's just your future yesterday!

If you remember the end at the pressconfrence alexis came up and was about to tell what really hapened (because she is a little biotch) but amanda said he loved her. I figured that if he broke off the arrangment she would spill the beans on everything.

You guys are putting way too much thought into it. They aren't married. Jenny said that it was Alexis to save herself from being Jason's "girl." He claimed her really did like her, and that he meant it. He was probably cool with atleast having some kind of relationship with her, but she realized where her heart truly lyed and came up with a quick plan to get herself out. I don't know how I could explain it better. At the end it was a press conference pretty much right after they came back and the hurricane to tell the press "what" had been going on/where Jason was and what happened....anyway ya...

i understood it as they (Jason and Alexis) got married but, by the way Jason would basically run away from her on teh stage and she would follow like a puppy dog, she was very happy with the marriage and he was miserable. I definitly think aht they could have come up with a better ending... and, in case anyone was unsure in this area, Jenny and Ryan(?) are going out at the end. but what i want to know is.. how the hell do they tell her parents that they're going out? They've been rooming for THREE MONTHS. and her dad's like "o yeah im not worried about you guys rooming. you're the last guy id worry about with her. shes more liekly to date the ugly acne guy down teh street". so what happens when they get back and are like "o yeah and by the way... we're going out now after sleeping with a flimsy piece of cloth between us for three months". i think that would make her "muy embarazadas". and yes... i DO know what that means.

alexis and the famous guy were never married.that was just something jenny said so SHE wouldnt be tied into it,and the famous guy would still seem herioc.

They did get married. At the very end during the credits he said This is for my wife.

uh ok, everyone, u guys are OVERTHINKING it just a TAD bit...
jenny and jason aren't married, helllllooooo!!! jenny likes ryan, so, to keep the spotlight away from her, so that they could all stop calling her "jason's girl", she makes up a lie, which then works for everyone's favor, except for jason, who, obviously would rather die than be the husband of ms. fart girl lol.

I just watched this movie (half watched it while working)... but I fully watched the last five minutes and the movie ended with Amanda saying to the public that Jason was going to marry Alexis... they must have cut the ending, because then they ran the credits underneath the following movie start (like they sometimes do).

Dunno why he would be too angry...She is pretty hot after all...granted he can't fool around as much as he could before or maybe at all but still not a bad deal...

Just saw movie right now. The publicists decided to change the story to make him look all manly and whatnot. They were going to say that Amanda was the girl he saved, but she had already realized she was all In Love with her friend. So she said the other girl was the one he saved and that they were getting married. She said that the reason they said Amanda was the girl was because they were trying to cover up his secret romance.

ummm i have a feeling that HALF the people here switched the movie off as soon as they saw the first credit rolling. Wait for a second, wouldja? If you keep watching, it shows Jason in concert, presenting his WIFE, ALEXIS. They DID get married, probably just so no one would suspect anything about the story about the whole shipwrecked thing.

what does he say at the very end? he says 'thats my girl' then 'good night Winnipeg' right? the winnipeg part would be awesome cuz thats where I'm from! if someone has the DVD can u put it on caption and tell me what he says?
