Wasn't that Peter Dinklage?

as the small person?

Indeed it is. He's the little guy who has a big thing for Guy – and who can blame him?

He was great in "In Bruges" The Coolest Damned Midgey in the World! I'd do him!

I have to check out "In Bruges." I've been avoiding it because I fear it'll be another Tarantino-esque "isn't violence hip and funny" movie. Is it like that? The Dinkmaster was terrific in "The Station Agent" and "Death at a Funeral," which I've mentioned before.

In Bruges is absolutely NOT one of those Tarantino "isn't violence hip and funny" movies! You're not doing your self any favors by avoiding it. This film is literally gorgeous to look at. Farrell is wonderful, as is every other member of the cast. It's funny and in parts it is violent in parts and sometimes those parts mingle.. sort of.. BUT not in ANY flippent way.

This is how anti-Tarantino it is. They play Townes Van Zandt's "Kathleen" in the background of one of the scenes... (How's that for anti-tarantino?) The city of Bruges, which has not changed in a million years is the real star of this picture. This indeed is a hip picture ... I can't get enough of it. I have it DVRed and watch it a couple times a month. And the Dinkmaster is truly the cherry on top of this banana split! Farrell is sweet and funny and sad and he is clever enough to bring all this together while falling for a chick who's making a film with snow and midgets (it's a fantasy film you know).. It has a sad ending... aand there is a sad murder (unintentional) that I still think about.. Please see it, Warr..

Wait ... you're not talking about "Living in Oblivion," are you? That was Dinky's first film, and it's superb. He plays a midget (er, a "person without height" or whatever I'm supposed to call him) who appears in the pathetic dream sequence of a film directed by Steve Buscemi. If you haven't seen that, I highly recommend it. It's a hilarious spoof of indie films' pretense that is unexpectedly heartwarming. For some reason, I thought the Townes song appears in that film, though it's not in the soundtrack for either.

I shall seek out "In Bruges," but I don't see Peter in the cast listing for that. With my luck lately, I'll probably find it at my public library. To think, I used to spend money on films!

You're absolutely correct! The guy who plays Jimmy in "In Bruges" is Jordon Prentice! He is wonderful in this film! And how did I get Kathleen and st. john, The Gambler confused----?

I have never seen "Living in Oblivion" but if they have the taste to play Townes in the film, I willl have to check it out. Dang, you must have one massive library in your town!
I don't think I was thinking straight when I posted that note that you just replied to. I don't usually make mistakes like that. I wasn't thinking. "st john, The Gambler" and "Kathleen" are both among my top favorites of TVZ songs.

I believe you will appreciate this film if you see it. I wasn't disappointed. I am surprised you haven't seen it already. Maybe it was marketted incorrectly or something. It's lovely, it's funny and so deliciously un-PC! Farrell is so likable.

Well, as long as we're trying to sort out the details, it turns out it's Jordan Prentice in the "Guy Terrifico" film also! Peter Dinklage isn't in that at all! Isn't it amazing how much Jordan and Peter look alike? Or maybe I'm just being height-ist.

Actually, I'm not so sure about Townes Van Zandt being on the soundtrack of "Living in Oblivion." But you should definitely check that out – and I'll check out "In Bruges"! It has the lovely and talented Catherine Keener in it as well, plus a great send-up of pretentious male leads. The leading man insists on wearing an eye patch for effect – he seems to be based on Brad Pitt, though they also say he's Matt Dillon.
