I watch this every time it is on TV and I cry each time. I hate Xmas movies (probably cuz I'm a Jew) but this and While You Were Sleeping are my favorite holiday movies.

I never realized people didn't like it. I love this movie. I can't tell you where I first watched it or why but I think it's great. AND it's one of the rare RARE remakes where I have preferred it over the original. I decided to watch the Alex Guinness version after seeing this one a few times and I liked it too, I prefer the happier ending in this one. My favorite scene that I always think of is when she arrived in the restaurant in that beautiful red dress. It's so Hollywood glam and it's just a great scene. I love this movie.
