Wow....this film is a mess.

I understand what the writer and director were going for. And in theory it should have made a great film......but it was to much, and the hope for the big pay off twist ending just didn't work. The two actresses were great, and they basically saved this film.

my problem was the "let's throw every trick at the wall and see what sticks" approach to 'style'. It had no cohesive style at all. Even the first few minutes are disjointed (and not an a good way...in a 'maybe this'll be cool way'. We open with the tracking shot on the stairway that would make Scorcese proud, move into some Hitchcockian setup shots, then do a randmom Fight Club style CGI scene transfer. What? The pacing and editing was very poor as well. I think I', in love with the star though...man oh man....

add on: Just remembered she was in The Eye, a much better exercise in modern asian horror/thriller.

I thought the movie was decent, the twists wern't all that twisty tho and I expected a huge showdown at the end. It would have worked better if they didn't make some of the stuff obvious.

I rented The Eye a few months ago and thought it was a mess at the end, it felt like one of those we'll take the movie in one direction and then suddenly bring it this way type deals.

I thought the movie was above average, great acting. The only problem I had with it was the issue of Cing's tooth being removed. It was an extremely suspenseful scene, what with the dream then waking up to find something actually did happen, but then, nothing. Ouldn't she have gone to the police? Nothing ever came of it. I did notice in the credits a character called "dentist's nurse" but there was no scene in a dentist, must've ended up on the cutting room floor. Strange.

I don't know if you can actually call it a "mess". The muted colors in the characters costumes and the lighting in the different environments was consistent and interesting, the acting was solid, and the story was half as ludicrous as some people are trying to make it sound. Plotwise, I would have liked a bit more meat, but artistically, this movie is in the 90th percentile of movies of this genre.

I thought it was pretty good, the only thing that kind of annoyed me was the fact they used the music from the movie "Signs." I mentioned it in another post.

Yeah this film was a mess.

The whole tooth part was pointless. Ching should of totalled her car, the other vehicle was going incredibly fast. It didn't even stop or act as if it had collided with her. Wai magically appears after her crash. Then later she almosts crashes again, damn red fire hydrant came out of nowhere! Their whole friendship was a joke, how could them having dinner with Wai not be a bit awkward? What kind of idiot gets caught up in plastic and passes out?

The only good things about this movie are:

Nice boobs and ass on the victim in the beginning.
Wai getting stabbed in the eye.
Wai getting axed by Ching :D.
Ching saying "HERES JOHNNY!!" when she axed the door and looked through it....wait she didn't say.

If you want to see a good movie that also has organ thieves, go watch Sympathy for Mr Vengeance.
