A horrible movie

This movie tried too hard to be an 80's movie. The high school is made up of a bunch of rich kids, mostly white, who have nothing to bitch about. Julie Bowen plays a high school teacher, who is supposed to be too tough, but she's just not intimidating. There's no real reason for the kids to be trying to start a revolution at the school. The girl getting suspended for wearing a condom dress, is a little tame. They really needed to make the school a little tougher and actually have a reason for the kids to band together. As the movie stands, it more about Malik Yoba instigating to get the kids to stand up. Which is really stupid because if he was such a controversial doctmentarian, the school would never have hired him in the first place. And it was obvious he was going to get fired.

I also found it really lame how the kid's parents all were mirror images of the kids. Most kids are not exactly like their parents. If anything, when your parents are extreme, like Rosanna Arquette's character, he daughter would probably have been nothing like her.

This movie is too pretentous in trying to make a statement, but it comes off laughable. It's too inspired by 80's movies. The writers are not John Hughes. They really dropped the ball. With no real soul to the movie or the characters, it just comes off unbelievable.
