...hate American Pie and all films similar to it, but love comedies similar in humour to the films of Wes Anderson, is this film any good?
I thought it looked good from the trailer, yet a hell of a lot of people seem not to like it on this board. I was just wondering if that might be down to them expecting the humour to be like that used in American Pie films.
It's not like a Wes Anderson and the comedy gently fades away through the film (with good effect and reason). It's more akin to MASH and Buffalo Soldiers than anything, but with a more subtle flavour of seriousness that permeates it. I think it's worth a watch and might take a couple of views to completely get it
shareThere is nothing 'to get' about this film, apart from the fact it is a giant steaming turd. I don't need to watch it again to find that out.
shareI'm a huge fan of Wes Anderson, every single movie he made is in my top 10 ;)
And, I liked Guy X. People call it crap, but I find it very witty and interesting. Not a typical comedy, actually, it's pretty hard to define the genre.
Anyway, I recommend you it :)
