Well, someone had to, why not him? I thought he made the most of his situation, and, in fact, I was appreciative of the fact that this was kind of a casting-against-type (One would have expected Ironside to be cast as the Commander, or perhaps as the CIA Heavy). It was shocking to see this actor as a frail, battered, ruined man, literally rotting away on a hospital bed. I thought the chemistry between him and Biggs was palpable, almost as if Rudy Spruance was somehow connecting with his dead father. This role broadens Mr. Ironside's repertoire.
