This movie makes no sense

1- Someone or more would have seen the little girl. Hands down.

2- The pilot would have been IMMEDIATELY suspicious (and the other flight attendants if they weren't made to be catty lazy mean people for the plot) once they realized there was one coffin---not two.

3- The pilot then would be even more suspicious that the Air Marshal randomly comes to him telling him "her" plan about the bombs and money. Even though she looked incredibly genuinely concerned about losing her daughter. She never once said anything about bombs or money.

4- The pilot would have wondered why once they were in the air, just immediately ask to talk to the pilot, and tell him there are explosives somewhere on the plane, and she wants the money wired. Or have someone do it for her. Not tell the Air Marshal after an hour of searching for her kid. No one hijacking a plane would go about it this way. Surely an intelligent, experienced Pilot knows this or would think that it didn't seem right.

5- The two arab guys didn't fit in at all actually. What exactly did the couple want with their presence? For people to be afraid of them--- even though they were centering the entire thing around the woman being crazy. But when he is calming his GF down about the plan he says "It's going perfect, this woman has an entire aircraft thinking there are dangerous arabs on the plane" But really only one guy was questioning them. Then no one. And he TELLS the pilot it's the mother with the plan. Not arabs.

6- Wtf did he give the little to sleep so long without it killing her?? She's 6 years old. You can't give a kid a super strong sleeping pill to fly an entire flight sleeping without it killing her. Or making her go brain dead.

7- Why would they even wire the money? Wouldn't they just bluff. They are on a plane. Give a fake confirmation number. They know when they land they are going to arrest her. So just tell her yeah the money is wired, oh here is the *fake* confirmation number. If they were land based, and she had a hostage or someone had hostages in a building, with explosives ON HER, yeah they might have to wire the money and show her actual proof so she doesn't blow up the building but in this case even the air marshal tells the captain the explosives aren't even on her. And there is no way for her ON A PLANE to tell if they actually wired the money.

8- Once they land, arrest her, blah blah---- how were they planning on getting the money from the account again? Wouldn't they immediately close the account once the "problem" is taken care of? They wouldn't be able to get near that money.

9- They thought they could convince a woman who lost her husband that she is going crazy and imagined her daughter. How could they rely on that happening, just like relying on no one, out of 400 something passengers, and however many air attendants not seeing the girl? And not seeing the girl being taken?? Yes some people imagine their loved ones as alive due to severe grief but not everyone.

10- At the end when they are de-boarding the crew----THEY REALLY DIDN'T REALIZE HIS GF STAYED BEHIND? Pretty sure it's in some safety handbook somewhere that if there is a bomb threat, you effing make sure you KNOW every single employee is off the plane. They were standing out there forever while all the stuff between the 3 of them was going down and no-one was like "Um, where's Gene?" No effing way!!

11- Erika Christensen's character was pointless. Why get an actress who is an actual name to play the "newbie" who does nothing at all but has like 6 lines. They could have gotten anyone to play her. At first I thought she was someone in on it---I didn't even recognize the gf at first. I know who she is but for real, why is Erika in this film? They had enough bigger actors to bring in an audience. Why not have her play the GF? Did she audition for the role of the GF and not get it so they gave her a small part as a favor cause they like her? Wtf?

Hence, none of this film makes any freaking sense.

Would anyone else like to add even more ways this movie makes no sense? I feel like I am probably missing even more.

This movie is like a parody on thrillers. I saw it when I was 13 and was like: oh this was a good movie. I watched it again today , 11 years later and was like; is this a joke? All the mistakes they make in the movie is just so many. You mentioned a lot of them I was thinking about. ESPECIALLY the one with the "wire money". A captain just transfer millions without even ASKING a passenger or ANYONE ELSE. Ohh, this random police (not FBI) tells me she's gonna blow up the plane if i don't transfer the money, okay I'll do it without questioning . ... " I was like wtf.

The scene where the captain gives her the gun?? What was that? She had her hands free, not able to push a button and he just gives her the gun because she's threatening him without any guns in her hands?? And tells Peter Sarsgaard, "its in your hands now " or something. Like he would give him the responsibility, he's a civil cop, not in service, not even FBI. Omg..

Everything about this movie is a joke.

Haha number 10 : and I was laughing so hard when she ran out of the plane, trying to escape. Where was she even going, running towards nothing in her work outfit without any money to get any further than her legs could carry her
