question about animation

I have just recently bought and watched swamp thing the animation. I was left feeling a bit confused. How old is Abby supposed to be in the cartoon? Judging by the movie and comics, i would have thought shed be in her early 20s. She looks much younger in the cartoon so im confused. Have they just watered it down for kids? Or is she supposed to be 18 in the cartoon? I always thought she and Swamp Thing were really close (comic and movies) But in the cartoon they dont really seem to be together as much. Anyone know? Despite which, i still enjoyed the cartoon.

Thanks!:)

The cartoon is completely different continuity from the movies, the live action show, and the comic books.

It is VERY watered down for kids and includes the awful toy characters "Tomahawk" and "Bayou Jack" (these characters were created so there would be more toys to sell). The two kids on the animated show appear to be loosely based on the two kids that appear in the second movie.

The Abby in the cartoon is actually a little closer to the original comic character than either the Abby from the second movie or the Abby from the live-action TV series, though as you noted, seems to be a bit younger.

The cartoon is cheesier than Wisconsin... bad, bad, bad. And yet, there are some fun things about it. The use of the music from the song "Wild Thing" is really the high point of the series.

In what order are the cartoons supposed to be watched???

the orignal airdate for the cartoons according to wikipedia is...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swamp_Thing_(1991_TV_series)

"The Un-Men Unleashed"
"To Live Forever"
"Falling Red Star"
"Legend of the Lost Cavern"
"Experiment in Terror"

but the DVD says
"The Un-Men Unleashed"
"Falling Red Star"
"To Live Forever"
"Experiment in Terror"
"Legend of the Lost Cavern"

so which is the correct order? anyone know???

the show wasnt "bad", it was exactly what it was supposed to be, a cheesy kids cartoon like Real Ghostbusters. I enjoyed the cartoon a lot more then the live ation movies. jim calm the *beep* down, its a damn cartoon and hey, the toys were awssome. I feel bad that it only lasted 5 episodes. so what if its cheesy? that's part of the fun of it! some peopek, take this stuff too seriously.

Realism, Remakes and Unnecessary Sequels are ruining movies!

I don't know for certain but I'd go with the airdate as the correct order.

The same thing happened with "Red Dwarf" with the episodes on the VHS being in a different order than the airdate and in that case the airdate was absolutely the correct one.

In this series Abby seems to be about eighteen as you said. The fact that she stays in the Arcane plantation to help Swamp Thing/Alec Holland is proof that they're very close but they can't really spend much time together as that would be dangerous. What if they were seen together by one of the Un-Men?

And yes, this is an awesome series.
