Who thinks mr.Ford is too old for acting?

I mean, in this movie he looked like let's say 80 years old. Not a guy who would beat up the bad guy. Hm , perhaps with his kane or wooden leg

reply

I do.

To old lololol. You are retarted what is the age that people should STOP acting how about Pachino,De Niro, Connery, Freeman,Hopkins, they should qiut acting cause they also are to old.

" Death is my future and to escape it I must Face it"

reply

I mean to say that he is to old for the kind of roles that he is playing lately.
We are talking about this movie specifacly you know.
So keep your remarks concerning this movie only.

it diffrent for them becaused they aged very well, where ford didnt. and to think he's going to be in the new indiana jones movie. i know that that is his role and he did a good job, but for certain roles they shouldnt be done at that age even if you were goood at it.

reply

I don't think you can be too old for acting- it's just the types of roles that you play need to change to suit the way you look etc. I agree that he's not much of an action hero but he could just as easily play something else.

reply

I agree, but in that case he must stop taking roles of "man's family is in danger and I become a hero" Better example of older men playing a role that suits them is Clint Eastwood. In his roles he plays an older detective/cowboy etc. For more realistic than Harrison Ford.

reply

You couldn't have put that better. There are some really good roles for the older man; maybe Mr Ford could try one of those next time rather than a film like this one.

reply

not me, unless he's 80 or above.

reply

Skip-bo, you're an idiot for suggesting something like this. I don't want to lose Leslie Neilson, Harrison Ford, Al Pacino, Robert DeNero and countless others because of their age of all things! It's called ageism and is so stupid.

"Spare the rod and spoil the child."

Oh really? I'm such an idiot that I don't know the titles of the movies of these fine actors that you mentioned. Let me guess: Did Robert DeNero play in "Meat the parents" and "Walk the dog"? And did Leslie Neilson play in "The naked gum"

reply

[deleted]

Knowing the movies they were in doesn't mean you're not an idiot... this thread you've started here does.

reply

But a man's got to know his limitations. There's only so much one can believe when it comes to action movies, especially when it an Everyman role.

"Corporal punishment is the sign of a weak and lazy mind"

reply

He's almost in his mid-60s and still doing action movies (and well at that!)

Hell, Christopher Lee is over 80 and still doing action movies. Granted, he has a dedicated stunt double, I'm sure... but still.

reply

I don't agree with you.
Harrison Ford is still a fine actor and certainly not too old for acting.
The truth is that most of the young actors around today suck.

reply

I should have been more precise in my question: I mean to say that he is too old for acting in these kind of roles such as in "Firewall"
I do not mean that he is to old for acting in general.

reply

harrison ford not able to kick someone's ass?

what world are you living in?

reply

If we take his role in Firewall as an example for Harrison Ford in an action role I'm worried about the final result for Indy 4.
I mean, by the time Indy 4 is finished Harrison is eating trough a straw.

reply

Well for your info...they're using Ford's age in the script...he's not going to be playing the same early 40 yr old Indy from the past three films...this film takes place in the 40's/50's era and his age is written into the part...which is admirable to me...cuz they could easily make he seem younger...cough Terminator 3 cough....but they don't wanna fake us...which is why i admire spielberg and can't wait till shooting starts in June...

INDY 4...MAY 2008

reply

You're going to be sooooo disappointed. lol

reply

Skip-bo. I've got 5 bucks that says you are younger than the difference between HF's real age and eighty. What's too old? He was 35 as Han Solo, for God's sake. Age is a state of mind.

Now why are you telling me to grow up when I suggested Mr Ford merely tried roles more suited to his age group? I didn't say he should give up acting, far from it. You wouldn't expect Daniel Radcliffe to play a middle aged man, for example. (Actually with his acting you wouldn't admit Mr Radcliffe to play much, but that's another story.)

Here, here!

Harrison Ford would have been more credible in this role if they had him be the children's Grandfather, or done a better job with lighting. The severe dark shadows only served to bring out all of the sags and bags in his face. So, don't flame me for this comment, I can say this because I AM his age, and know about sagging faces.

The whole movie was badly lit. Hard to tell the day from the night scenes, and bank offices would NEVER be that dimly lit. Hard to watch and follow.

Are you serious?

He is rather cute isn't he, MiracleMaxSavedMyLife? And not a bad singer either.

reply

Not too old although I have to question the movies he has been picking for many years now. Hard to remember the last decent movie he was in since the Fugitive. Although I guess Hollywood Homicide was at least more entertaining than I expected it to be (funny that he was playing the older cop schooling the young rookie in that one).

If only J K Rowling would let American actors have parts in the film versions of "Harry Potter" we have the perfect role for good old Harrison - the next Dumbledore. Instead of saying "I've gotta save my family", he could go around saying "I'v e gotta save my SCHOOL!"

reply

Harrison Ford in his prime was a great action star but in Firewall LOL I thought it was hilarious seeing him still trying to be "THE HERO" being 75 years old n all hahaha
