Did the Madsen character have an affair with Harry? ATTENTION SPOILERS!

I enjoyed this movie almost as much as "Air Force One" which I watched yesterday, BUT I could not figure out this scene: one of the bad guys forces Virginia Madsen to leave a message on a voice mail. Later Harrison Ford listens to Harry's voice mail (how did the bad guys know that Harrison Ford would break into Harry's apartment?) and there is Madsen's voice telling Harry that she'll leave Harrison Ford.
Was she forced to say that or did she really have an affair with Harry?

That was the only confusing scene. Other than that it was a very well-made thriller, something to watch again.

The message wasn't for Ford, it was for the police when they would investigate Robert Forster's murder. It would seem like Ford killed Forster for having an affair with his wife. She didn't really have an affair.

Thank you! I also was under the impression that she was a faithful wife.
