Folks, we know this movie is based on true facts.
I was never able to find anything regarding Avner's dad...one moment they say he is a hero, then he was supposed to be in prison, when Avner was young he was not around...
Any light on this? Thanks!
I would presume that his father was imprisoned by the British as they had the protectorate of Palestine around the time that he was born. The Jews in Palestine carried out terrorist acts in order to get the British to give up the protectorate.
I guess this period was mentioned when he was speaking to Karl and Karl said something along the lines that violence was used.
So, it's not inconceivable that his father was a hero for Israel but was imprisoned by the British.
