The part about the sterilization was sheer spin and BS


"sterilization" clinics were not something that JUST occurred in PR but throughout the US usually in poor neighborhoods. Sweden had a similar program for it's own people. While this is despicable and a horrible crime the movie made it look like it was a racist operation set forth by the US gov't to irradicate Puerto Ricans.

This movie wasn't all bad, as a Puerto Rican I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride during some scenes. The problem was the obvious leftist slant. They held Albizu Campos up as a hero. He was a communist and a terrorist, NOT a hero. It was also hopelessly anti-American. I can't watch this movie without being annoyed and angry as well as proud.
