Why Tom Berenger?? Treat Williams is better...

I don't know why they chose Tom Berenger to be in this movie. I think Treat Williams plays a much better Tom Berenger than even Tom Berenger can. Just look at The Substitute II...a classic and worthy of being in the IMDb top 250. He filled in for Tom Berenger in that movie and did a better job - and now Mr. Berenger is begging and pleading to be in The Substitute III. A role Treat has locked up!

Treat Williams just doesn't get the respect he deserves.

This is blasphemy, Berenger sets the bar and there is no way Williams even comes close, he needs to stick to the WB!

Very odd trolling I must say. As the Substitute 2 with Treat Williams is neither an outstandingly bad or outstandingly good movie and certainly not hugely infamous and most people don't even know of it's existance. Even odder that this is his only IMDB post and he hasn't been active since.

What does Treat Williams have to do with the Sniper movies? Nothing!! We could say that about every movie out there that another actor could have played, in our opinion, the part better. Do you think Treat would have been better than Tom in Platoon? Hell no is the answer to that!!
I didn't think Tobey Maquire would be a good Spider Man, but he's done pretty well so far. So, why compare one actor with another for a part we will never know which one would have been better. Tom is the Sniper movies. I liked the first Sniper movie a lot and saw the next two because Tom Berenger returned in the part. If they had cast someone different in the role like Treat, I probably wouldn't have seen either one.

i hope this is a joke post ive havent seen a actor quite like tom berenger in hollywood, i didnt even watch Substitute II because i knew Williams couldnt fill toms shoes

Treat Williams was in "The Substitute" parts 2-4. Berenger played in the original. Not sure why Berenger didn't go for the part 2 role...I'm betting he was probably busy filming other projects and the directors/producers of the Substitute series had to do just that...find a suitable substitute.

For what its worth...the sequels with Williams were all excellent !

Berenger has had alot of great roles including the sniper series. I even liked him in the Eddie and the Cruisers movies.

They are both good actors. One of the first movies I saw Williams in was the screen adaption of Streetcar named Desire (I think 1st remake since Brando did it) with Ann Margaret. That was quite a few years ago though.

I don't think anyone could have played this role any better than Tom Berenger. He was born for it!

Treat is great in lots of things though. Especially Deep Rising, Hand Gun and that "Tales from the Crypt" Episode from season 3.
