The British Government has never been either interested in actually protecting anyone in the north of Ireland or finding out any truths. Not in 1969, or 1972, or 1998.

Indeed - that's why the government sent over Army reinforcements to help protect the outnumbered Roman Catholic ghettos in Belfast... numbnuts!

And its called Northern Ireland.

Yes, that's right, and they ending up brutalising the entire Nationalist/catholic population and thus became the best recuiting Sergeant for the IRA.

For the record, some Irish poeple do call it "the North of Ireland"

Protect the Roman Catholic ghettos???

Oh sure....I just love how the Catholics are enjoying the brief peace and quiet between orange parades that 'must be allowed' to go on marching through Catholic/republican neighborhoods. That of course provokes the Republicans into getting up protest marches of their own which doesn't help.at all. There should be no marching allowed whatsoever. That's where a lot of contention comes from. The RUC claim that they must allow the orangemen to march or there'll be trouble! Pppffff! What sh*tty logic!

Just marking up the link from the first post properly http://www.rte.ie/news/2006/0224/omagh.html

It should be noted though, that this story is not confirmed, and that evidence regarding the bomb has been uncovered since this report.

Not surprised--I was under the impression it was implied by a character in the film that this was the case anyway.

They knew it was going to happen. They let it happen to make the Real IRA look bad to undermine Sinn Fein's position in the Peace Process.

Is there anyone else who has slightly mysterious bruises
