Madolyn's baby

After Leo's funeral Damon goes up to Madolyn and asks, what about the baby? Its obvious after what transpired in the movie that their relationships is over, I assume Damon was asking her if she had an abortion.

Any way, since both Damon and Leo both slept with her, whose baby is (was) it?

reply

I took it as he was asking her about the baby because he believed it was his and even though their relationship was over, he still wanted to be involved in the child's life. I maintain that William (Leo) was the father because of the previous references to Colin's inability to get it up.

reply

Agree and definitely William's (Leo) baby. Think Colin was gay from the subtle hints and had problems in bed with Madolyn, another hint.

reply

What were the subtle hints he was gay?

Maybe he was a closet homo maybe he wasn't. Sometimes people look too deep into things.

Just read your link GotWood84 after my reply. Interesting to see similarities.

The way he kept calling the opposition team gay at the rugby match. Really over doing it as if he’s trying to prove something.

The way he acted when the guy selling the flat said it’s just you and Colin said he had a co-owner.

The way he over did looking at the woman walking passed him in the office, as if he was interested, but it was so overdone and fake, like he was trying to prove he’s heterosexual.

When he had problems in bed with Madolyn.

The conversation he had with Frank at the end, like something happened but I’m still confused about that conversation.

I’ve seen the film so many times that you see things you’ve missed previously and it makes sense.

But I might be wrong and looking into it way too hard. :-)

reply

Interesting, never thought of that but I do so your points. Its funny that during a conversation with Alec Baldwin he tells Damon that being married is good because (paraphrasing) it shows somebody can stand the son of a bitch, your cock works, and your not a homo.

reply

Yea exactly. Love this film, but always get angry when Leo dies. He so didn’t deserve that. I shouted in the cinema when I watched it for the first time. :-) lol

reply

I didn't like seeing him get killed off either, but at least Marky Mark came through in the end and popped Colin's worthless ass.

reply

Yes. I wonder how he knew Colin was the mole. Maybe Leo sent a letter to him too.

reply

He knew he was the mole the moment Colin told the other officers that Queenan was the mole. Cause he was the only one besides Queenan that knew Billy was an undercover cop.

reply

Thank you. That makes perfect sense.

Yes I think you're looking into something that isn't there. They made a point of him being interested in women early on; looking at the girl during the meeting, looking at that woman's ass (I didn't think it was fake), then meeting Madolyn in the lift and wanting a date with her. It came off as genuine to me.

They made him impotent because they wanted to establish a vulnerability in Sullivan and a reason for him and Madolyn having some difficulties, leading her to sleeping with Costigan and having HIS baby.

I mean you could overreach to make any character gay if you wanted to. Maybe Dingham is gay because he made a joke about Sullivan blowing him, and maybe all his hostility towards his male coworkers is suppressed homosexual frustration?
