Because at that point, the tension(Mostly Sexual) was pushed to the brink of being uncomfortable. There was obviously far more real emotion between the two than she had with Colin. It was strictly nervous talk. It's not a "Retarded Screenplay" as the Dingbat above me said. It's actually a decent portrait of how awkward it can become when attraction is involved.
