Because the boy hits his head and forgot everything? The question remains why nobody else remembered her, like her Mother or the teacher. I mean, the teacher remembers her but says that she dies because of a pneumonia (I think). Why's that?

You are absolutely correct - thanks for the clue! I re-watched the movie and this was a big help to piece the events together. Id didn't realize it was the same actress - she looked so different playing 2 roles!
Also the DVD extras are very helpful, she in fact says that she plays a double-role in the interview, and there's a deleted scene of Kang turning her wife's photo over with a voice-over saying, "I tried to forget you".
So to summarize, his wife had nobody else but him to remember her, and he tried to forget her - so she was a "forgotten soul". The conversation with the "teacher" was part of his dream sequence while he was in the coma. I'll post more on this in another thread.
