Runthrough Part 2

Elementary School/Gymnasium/Day 1/22:11:08

After wandering many lengths along the mountain paths, Naoko finally reaches the school gymnasium. As she enters via the fire exit apprehensively, someone locks the door behind her from the outside. Naoko tries to open the door but when she can’t she breaks down in tears of fright and frustration.

Naoko makes her way around the gymnasium now populated by Crawler Shibitos and enters the Gymnasium storeroom where there is a key under the floorboards that she cannot reach; instead Naoko makes her way through the barricaded corridors and upstairs where she comes across Eiji Nagoshi who has mutated further into a Shibito Brain. Defeating him disables all the Crawlers in the school. Naoko enters the second floor supply room and takes a pair of long blackboard compasses. With the compasses, Naoko heads back down to the gymnasium storeroom and takes the key from under the floorboards. Naoko heads back round to a Small storage room under the stairs, unlocks its door and escapes the school via a side entrance.

Miyata Clinic/Ward 2/Day 1/22:52:57

While Shiro Miyata and Kei Makino are having a conversation, Risa Onda sets out to explore the hospital in search of her sister, Mina. In the dark halls Mina’s voice echoes, calling Risa’s name over and over again. Fearfully Risa shines her flashlight towards her sister, but it seems that Mina is no longer human.

Risa turns and runs away from Mina, up the stairs and squeezes through a gap in a broken door. On the other side Risa Sightjacks Mina and waits for her to turn around and loose interest. When Mina is far enough away, Risa quietly sneaks downstairs and into a Storeroom where she finds an Umbrella to use as a weapon. Risa then gets Mina’s attention by shouting and pulls the pin out of a fire extinguisher, filling the corridor with extinguishment fumes. With Mina blinded Risa hits her to the floor with her Umbrella; Mina is also a Shibito Brain and disables all Shibito in the hospital. With a clear path, Risa goes back upstairs, squeezes through the door, runs through Ward 2’s second floor, into Ward 1, downstairs and finally finds an emergency alarm that works. Setting off the alarm alerts Shiro and Kei to come to Risa’s aid.

Miyata Clinic/Ward 1/Day 1/23:03:48

Mina Onda advances on Risa but Kei is too scared himself to help, as he cowers before Mina, but from nowhere runs Shiro who throws a bottle of acid at Mina, driving her up the stairs and out of sight. Kei seems tortured for having been unable to take action, but Shiro tells Kei not to worry since he isn’t used to dealing with this kind of situation. Shiro then tells Kei to look after Risa while he follows Mina.

Karuwari/Abandoned Storeroom/Day 1/23:45:18

While hiding in the storeroom, Harumi Yomoda tells Reiko Takato about a dream she had involving Miyako Kajiro, causing Reiko to hug Harumi tight. An inhuman scream echoes in the distance and they are both struck with fear.

Reiko picks up a lighter and leads Harumi past an old bonfire and into a graveyard. After taking out several Shibito, Reiko leads Harumi to an abandoned car, inside Reiko finds a cassette tape. Approaching a cart Reiko sees that the exit is blocked by lots of Shibito, Reiko tells Harumi to hide in the cart until she can figure out what to do. A few moments later the Shibito take the cart away, and when Harumi makes a shuffling noise the Shibito put it down to investigate, Reiko seeing this, runs to the nearby Fuel truck and sounds the horn to distract the Shibito to her. Reiko then opens the valve on the truck, spilling fuel onto the floor. The Shibito advance on Reiko just as she takes her lighter and lights the fuel, blowing up the fuel truck, the Shibito and herself. Meanwhile Harumi, running away turns to explosion and calls out Reikos name but to no avail. Alone Harumi continues on to the Tabori Settlement.

Tabori/Abandoned Cottage/Day 1/23:59:44

While Kyoya sleeps Miyako and Ayako Kajiro confront each other in an abandoned cottage, where the two sisters express their feelings of resentment towards each other. Ayako calls Miyako a sacrificial lamb, and after nearly slamming a scythe into Miyakos head Ayako fees into the night, fearful of the Sirens and leaving Miyako alone.

Day 2

Hirunotsuka/Route 333/Day 2/00:11:26

As the Sirens blare in the distance Akira Shimura’s eyes open once again, he stands up and to his dismay he finds that even shooting himself in the head cannot stop the inevitable. As he begins to laugh insanely his voice grows deeper and blood trickles from his eyes as he begins the metamorphosis into a Shibito.

Miyata Clinic/Ward 1/Day 2/00:17:28

In the examination room Risa and Kei wait for Shiro who has gone after Mina. Just as Kei is explaining to Risa how Shiro is always late, Mina sneaks up behind Kei and knocks him unconscious as Risa stares out of the window. Risa turns and finds she is cornered by her sister, who presses Risa’s trembling face against her own and joins their minds together.

Tabori/Inside the Abandoned House/Day 2/00:23:36

In his sleep Kyoya begins to react to the sound of the Sirens, becoming tormented with pain. Using an old metal wire, Miyako cuts open Kyoya’s palm and her own and places them together, letting her blood mix with Kyoya’s, thus reliving him of his suffering.

Miyata Clinic/Ward 1/Day 2/00:49:33

Risa whose consciousness is now synchronized with Mina’s approaches Shiro Miyata wearing a nurse’s uniform, just like Mina. Although aware that it is Risa smiling at him Shiro attempts to strangle her to death, repeating actions of the past. But as blood trickles from her eyes and she starts laughing uncontrollably, Shiro realizes it is too late as she has become a Shibito also.

Shiro knocks out Risa with his hammer and leaves the Examination room, knocking out a Crawler Shibito, Shiro waits for Risa to leave the Examination room and into the hallway, where he knocks her out again. Shiro goes back in the Examination room and Sightjacks Risa, waiting for her to break open the door to the laboratory. Shiro goes into the laboratory, knocks out Risa and grabs an EEG Machine. Shiro proceeds to the basement entrance but it is locked, so instead Shiro heads upstairs and forces open a blocked door, running down, past the Isolation rooms Shiro enters the Security office and picks up an old, burned out Fluorescent light bulb. From there Shiro enters Ward 2 and descends the stairs and enters the Dispensary, finding the key for the basement. Shiro backtracks to the Basement, running into some Crawlers and Risa again along the way. Down in the basement Shiro enters the Storage room and gets a key for the 2nd floor men’s toilets in Ward no. 1 and then goes into the Mortuary where he opens up a wooden coffin with his hammer. Inside the coffin is a human shaped object wrapped in vinyl sheeting and wire, with a metal stake plunged through the centre of it. After Shiro removes the stake the object starts moving momentarily, but stops, thinking nothing of it, Shiro leaves the basement and goes back up to the second floor of Ward 1 where he uses the key to unlock the men’s toilet. Shiro proceeds back through the Security office, past Risa and the Crawlers, into Ward 2 and to a garbage chute. Sightjacking a Sniper Shibito in the courtyard, Shiro drops his light bulb down the chute, the Sniper walks over and looks inside the chute to investigate, so Shiro drops the heavy EEG Machine on the Sniper’s head, knocking it out. Heading down the courtyard, Shiro takes out another Crawler and pushes a large statue aside, revealing a ladder leading down to a rather bloodied autopsy room. Inside the room is a Shibito that has been chained to the wall with a pair of small statures in its hand, after approaching it the Shibito uses the last of its strength to give the statues to Shiro. Shiro takes the Uryen statues and returns to the hospital.

Tabori/Inside the Abandoned House/Day 2/01:11:11

As Kyoya Suda and Miyako Kajiro are sleeping soundly in the abandoned house they are suddenly awakened by a loud crashing noise, this puts them on edge immediately and Miyako senses that the house is no longer abandoned.

Taking Miyako with him, Kyoya knocks out a Shibito in the hallway, dodges past a revolver Shibito and enters the bathroom. Kyoya unplugs the bath and drains the red water and after watching a rather unusual creature, crawl down the plughole takes a key to a desk drawer in the bottom of the bath. Kyoya and Miyako proceed upstairs, into the Boarder’s room where Kyoya unlocks and opens a desk drawer with the key and picks up a pair of pliers. Heading back downstairs, Kyoya and Miyako reenter the room they slept in to find a Buddhist alter wrapped with wire. Using the pliers to cut the wire, Kyoya opens the alter and takes an old rusty key out of it. At that point a Shibito forces its way up through the floor next to Kyoya and Miyako, startling them, never the less Kyoya knocks it out and together Kyoya and Miyako crawl through the hole in the ground and exit the house. Outside Kyoya leads Miyako to the Storage shed and after knocking out the Shibito guarding the Storage shed they enter it, unlocking the door with the rusty key. Inside Kyoya picks up a bottle of Sake on a shelf, from there Kyoya leads Miyako round to the front of the house, and after knocking out one last revolver Shibito the pair escape out of the front gate.

Hirunotsuka/Spring at Shrine/Day 2/03:33:33

Near the point of exhaustion Naoko Mihama finally succumbs to the power of the Sirens and muttering to herself with a faraway look on her face Naoko starts to submerge herself in the bubbling red water of the spring.

Miyata Clinic/B1 Laboratory/Day 2/04:44:39

Once again conscious after being knocked out by Mina Onda, Kei Makino makes his way down a ladder in the courtyard to the autopsy room. Inside he is horrified as he finds a screaming Risa and Mina being dissected by Shiro with blood everywhere. Shiro tells Kei that he has been waiting for him as he passes Kei his written autopsy report. Shiro states that no matter how much you cut out of the Shibito they will always regenerate to full vitality and says there’s nothing he can do about it. Kei says that Shiro’s insane and then flees from the hospital.

Karuwari/Tanada/Day 2/06:06:01

Once again, Tomoko Maeda finds herself all alone. After walking some distance she notices several strange flying creatures flitting around her and the surrounding area, while the sky glows with a beautiful aura and a pillar of light sweeps toward the heavens. As Tomoko looks at this fascinating display, she turns around to see a Shibitofied Naoko Mihama staring her right in the face. But instead of attacking her Naoko simply starts laughing and runs past Tomoko in the opposite direction. Determined to find her parents, Tomoko sets off towards the church.

Tomoko runs from the abandoned storehouse, up past the Iron Gate and into the first graveyard. Inside she finds a Toy Monkey on a gravestone, and then she meets with the Shibito Naoko, muttering to herself about her eternal beauty and youth, however again Naoko and none of the Crawler Shibito attack Tomoko at all. Tomoko continues along the path, up some stairs to where a wooden bridge has collapsed into the red river below, instead Tomoko pushes an old rotten tree over and uses that to cross the river instead. Just outside the church gate is a Crawler guarding it, but once again it doesn’t attack Tomoko, it only stares at her in a familiarized fashion. Almost as though it knows her. Scared by this Tomoko walks past the crawler and follows the path onto the church.

Karuwari/Chapel of Irazu Valley/Day 2/06:32:56

Tomoko finally finds her way to the church and through the window sees her parents inside. She pounds frantically on the window, trying to attract their attention. Her parents suddenly become aware that Tomoko is calling to them, but as they look out of the window they see, in horror that their daughter is no longer as she was. As her eyes begin to bleed and her voice deepens, Tomoko turns and slowly walks away from the church.

Harayadori/Yabay Settlement/Day 2/06:44:51

Hisako Yao stands and talks as though she is having a conversation with an invisible being. Suddenly the rain stops and a pillar of light rises up from the surface of the red sea, Hisako faces her other self, floating at the base of the pillar as the other self hands Hisako an abnormal object.

Arato/Banks of the Mana River/Day 2/06:44:51

An enormous pillar of light stretches towards the sky, through the clouds and rising from an ocean that is not supposed to exist. As the pillar glows more brighter the sky begins to fill with ominous dark clouds. Below in the village, Kei Makino stares at the pillar in sheer fright, murmuring something about a Serpent before falling to his knees, trembling.

Janokubi Valley/Orifushi Forest/Day 2/07:03:41

At the break of dawn, Kyoya and Miyako gaze out over the village from the mountains, through a morning fog. They are filled with terror at the sight of a giant pillar of light that stretches between the red sea and the sky. Miyako appears to be in great fear of an evil power that is closing in on the village.

Leaving Miyako where she is, in the safety of the forest, Kyoya makes his way over the suspension bridge and into the Ore processing plant where, after defeating some Crawler Shibitos Kyoya picks up a key in the Mountain hut from through the floorboards with his poker. Exiting out of the other side of the plant, Kyoya makes his way down the hill, only to run into Tetsuo Ishida, the Police Officer who shot Kyoya when he first arrived in Hanuda, he has also further mutated into a flying Shibito. Kyoya heads back into Ore processing plant and uses his key to open a Power distribution box on the wall. The Power box is supplying current that runs through a deep puddle of red water at the foot of the hill. Kyoya shuts off the power and runs down the hill, at the bottom he takes out his bottle of Sake and breaks it in the puddle, the scent of alcohol fills the area. Kyoya returns to the Power box and Sightjacks Ishida. When Ishida dives into the puddle to drink the Sake, Kyoya throws the switch and electrocutes Ishida out of the puddle and making him drop his weapon. Kyoya shuts off the power and runs down the hill again, running through the puddle and picking Tetsuo’s Revolver. With a new weapon in hand Kyoya returns to get Miyako.

Janokubi Valley/Suspension Bridge/Day 2/09:57:58

Miyako proceeds to explain to Kyoya that the village has been dragged into another dimension that is between the living world and the underworld and them along with it. Kyoya then attempts to cheer up Miyako who is on the brink of despair. He is rewarded with a smile from the girl. However, Jun Kajiro who has finally tracked the two of them down takes aim with his Rife and shoots Kyoya over the bridge and into the depths of the valley below as Miyako screams in terror.

Janokubi Valley/Suspension Bridge/Day 2/10:07:23

As Miyako attempts to trace Kyoya’s consciousness after his fall into the valley, Jun tries to drag her away. However on the other side of the bridge Hisako Yao tells Miyako that someone wonderful is waiting for her. Miyako and Jun both shrink away from her benevolent smile without knowing why.

Janokubi Valley/Bridge/Day 2/10:29:56

Tamon Takeuchi shows Yoriko Anno a mark on one of the bridge rails that he made when he was a child, thus revealing to Yoriko that he was born, raised and lived in Hanuda until his parents were killed. Tamon apologizes for getting Yoriko involved, but Yoriko says it’s alright since she chose to come along with Tamon to Hanuda in the first place. Just as the two find something to smile about during the moment of calm, a Rife shot pierces the mist and shoots Yoriko over the bridge, to the riverside below. Under the bridge Tamon rests Yoriko against a Bridge pillar as she asks him if she will turn into a Shibito as well. As Tamon remains silent, Yoriko shows Tamon the old photo she found and asks if it is him in the picture. Tamon takes the photo and recognizes it instantly, he says he will get the Sniper and tells Yoriko to stay where she is.

Tamon climbs some stairs up onto the bridge and shoots out the flying Tetsuo Ishida, who has rearmed himself with another Revolver. Tamon proceeds up, past the Ore processing plant and to the Suspension bridge. Using a nearby Jerry can of gasoline, Tamon soaks the Suspension bridge planks with fuel and then shoots them to turn the bridge into a blazing inferno. Tamon runs back down the hill to the start of the bridge and Sightjacks the Sniper. When the Sniper has turned around, Tamon runs across the bridge and starts shooting the Sniper. However, before he can deliver the finishing shot, another Flying Shibito enters the valley, Tamon is forced to adjust his aim and shoot the Flying Shibito down. By then however the Sniper has retreated to the forest, but because of the flaming Suspension bridge Tamon has him trapped. Tamon makes his way into the forest and after stopping off at a Small Shrine to pick up some Hosepipe he sneaks up to the Sniper and finishes him off. After the Sniper has been defeated, he stares up at Tamon and utters his name. In shock, Tamon takes out the photo again and recognizes the Sniper to be none other than the Shibitofied Akira Shimura.

Janokubi Valley/Banks of the Mana River/Day 2/11:12:08

With no strength remaining and close to death, Yoriko collapses on the riverbank and falls unconscious. Also sapped of his strength, Kyoya Suda collapses nearby. Suddenly from out the mist comes Shiro Miyata who approaches the two unmoving bodies.
