Runthrough Part 3


Third times a charm you know, and this parts a corker:

Tabori/Living Room/Day 2/15:19:59

Inside a closet in the abandoned house, Harumi Yomoda is awakened by the sound of conversation and laughter. She suppresses a scream of horror with her hands as she peers through the crack and discovers that the source of the voices is the happy Shibitofied Maeda family gathered in the Living room.

Harumi Sightjacks all of the Maeda family. Mr. Maeda, Mrs. Maeda and Tomoko Maeda. Watching the family’s patterns, Harumi tries to plan her escape. Mr. Maeda first stands up and prays to the Buddhist alter in the next room, then he enters the Parlor and has a cigarette, he then enters the toilet to urinate and then finally washes his hands before starting over. Mrs. Maeda first takes a walk of the ground floor of the house, and then she returns to the living room to watch static on the TV, she then unlocks the kitchen, looks at a key on the kitchen shelf and chops up a chopping board with a knife, finally she locks up the kitchen and stares at the front door for a few moments before starting over. Tomoko starts by drawing on the floor by the stairs, then she goes upstairs and draws on the floor on the landing, finally she unlocks her room and draws in a book on her desk for a while before locking her door and starting over. When Mr. Maeda is in the bathroom, Mrs. Maeda is in the kitchen and Tomoko is upstairs, Harumi sneaks into the kitchen and takes the key from off the shelf. Harumi then hides on the stairs and waits for Tomoko to enter her room. Harumi sneaks into Tomoko’s room and takes Tomoko’s Toy Monkey from off the floor. Harumi unlocks the door to the clothesline and exits onto the roof, climbing down some boxes and leaving the house. Harumi makes her way to the front gate but she is intercepted by the now Shibitofied Reiko Takato. Reiko calls out Harumi’s name as she chases the little girl around the house. After one complete lap of the houses grounds, Harumi finally escapes out of the front gate.

Mana Stone/Day 2/15:33:08

Miyako Kajiro Sightjacks the dragon god Datatsushi from 684 A.D., and notices several figures surrounding her. They seem to be eating something but it can’t be determined what. An eerie sound is heard and the figures turn towards her in surprise.

Miyata Clinic/Ward 1/Day 2/16:03:07

On a hospital bed, Yoriko Anno regains consciousness after being transfused with Kyoya’s blood, she looks up to see Shiro Miyata looking down at her. Shiro explains to Yoriko that he doesn’t know what made him save her and Kyoya; however he feels that they are beacons of hope for stopping all the madness that has taken place in Hanuda. Then as Kyoya begins to stir, Shiro tells them that they are on their own, and then he leaves the hospital.

Miyata Clinic/Ward 2, 1st Floor Entrance/Day 2/18:37:11

While searching for Yoriko, Tamon Takeuchi comes across and enters the old hospital that should have disappeared 27 years ago.

Tamon shoots out some Crawlers and then heads upstairs. Passing into Ward 1, Tamon heads through the Security office, past the Isolation rooms and into the 2nd floor men’s toilet where he attaches the hosepipe to a tap and hangs it out of the window. Tamon goes down to the 1st floor men’s toilet, pulls the hose in through the window and lowers it into a grate on the floor. Tamon then goes back upstairs and turns the tap, filling the grate with water, and revealing a key floating in the water. Tamon goes downstairs to retrieve the key for the 2nd floor of Ward 2; from there he heads upstairs, unlocking Ward 2. After defeating some more Crawlers Tamon enters the Directors office and takes a Record player needle from a broken record player. Tamon then enters the Reference library and finds a very old photo of Hisako Yao in an old album dated 1967, proving that she hasn’t aged a day in years. With this new information in hand, Tamon leaves the hospital.

The Nest/Mirror Pool/Day 2/19:02:37

Hisako Yao wishes the unconscious Miyako Kajiro well as she lies on an alter. Placing lilies by Miyako’s side, Hisako explains that she has been waiting for this day for so long that she almost forgot who she was. She also says that she has received the head of the dragon god from the other side of the red sea, and that the wait is finally over.

Arato/Banks of the Mana River/Day 2/20:31:33

Kyoya and Yoriko stand on the riverbank to see that the Nest has grown large enough to engulf the entire village. Yoriko says that she can hear Tamon calling to her from inside, Kyoya can also feel a presence drawing him to the nest; he devises a plan with Yoriko to infiltrate the Nest.

Taking Yoriko with him, Kyoya heads up some stairs and shoots out a Shibito in the garden of Rokkaku’s house, Kyoya then proceeds to take out a Sniper guarding the area outside the Cafeteria with his Revolver. Moving on through the Cafeteria, Kyoya and Yoriko move round the back of the Rice Shop, taking out another Shibito and picking up a Folding saw. Heading down the alley in-between the Cafeteria and the Rice shop, Kyoya shoots out some more Shibito and Sightjacks a Sniper watching over the area, and when his back is turned, Kyoya and Yoriko run to a nearby ladder. Climbing the ladder, Kyoya saws some wood blocking their path and together, Kyoya and Yoriko enter the Nest.

Day 3

The Nest/Mirror Pool/Day 3/00:00:08

Hisako Yao plays an ancient melody on a church organ as Jun and Ayako Kajiro watch Miyako Kajiro burst into flames on the Mirror Pool. Kei Makino watches from a safe distance as a grotesque monster materializes from the flames Miyako leaves behind. Hisako then uses the same flames that burned Miyako to burn Ayako, explaining to Jun that they don’t need anyone else. Tamon Takeuchi then forces his way through a wall and realizes he’s too late to stop the ceremony. From another hallway runs Kyoya Suda and Yoriko Anno. Kyoya is dismayed to find that he’s too late to save Miyako, and against Hisako’s will the monster begins to attack everyone present.

The Nest/Level 1/Day 3/00:14:26

Harumi Yomoda keeps plodding along the path, covering her ears with her hands to prevent herself from listening to the Sirens. Spotting a sobbing villager by the roadside Harumi drops her guard and approaches her. But without warning the villager turns to reveal herself as a Shibito, and starts cackling insanely, causing Harumi to run away.

Harumi runs past a Shibito hammering the wall and hides behind some trashcans until the Shibito turns to work on a table. Harumi runs past him and crawls through a hole to the Hayashi residence and passes the house by its left side to another hole, which she crawls through. On the other side, Harumi enters the Kondo residence and unlocks the back door, leaving the house, Harumi moves round the right hand side of the house and craws through another hole. Harumi ends up at a house that has been near enough knocked down; Harumi enters and finds an old toy from the 70s called “Bag o’ laughs”. Harumi activates the toy and the laughter distracts a Shibito nearby, allowing Harumi to escape the house and crawl through another passageway. Harumi emerges at the Chibiki Bridge and is chased by a Crawler down to a smaller wooden bridge underneath Chibiki Bridge, where the wood breaks and washes the Crawler downstream on a small red water river. Without bother Harumi proceeds through the next hole. On the other side of the hole Harumi enters another house and Sightjacks Eiji Nagoshi who blocks her path. Harumi then takes the batteries out of the Toy Monkey she took from Tomoko Maeda and puts them in an alarm clock. Setting the alarm for 1 minute later, Harumi kills her flashlight and hides under some stairs leading to the house. After one minute is up the alarm starts blaring and Eiji Nagoshi runs down to the house and Harumi retraces his steps to the Sanja Bridge, crawls through one last hole and arrives at the Central Crossroads. Harumi collapses in fatigue.

Day 3/02:13:17

As Kyoya Suda dreams, he and Miyako sit next to each other in a vibrant green grass field, with a beautiful blue sky overhead. Miyako proceeds to tell Kyoya that when she first met him, the light she saw around him was totally different from the light around the other villagers, more warm and caring. As Kyoya asks what Miyako means, she wishes for the Hanuda and all of its villagers to disappear. Suddenly, Miyako vanishes and the blue sky turns a stormy, pitch black.

The Nest/Near Level 4/Day 3/03:03:27

Tamon Takeuchi regains consciousness in the depths of the Nest, repulsed to find himself revived by the red water he notices Kyoya Suda and Kei Makino have revived also. Tamon tells Kyoya that they must stop Hisako soon before it’s too late. Kyoya attempts to help Kei to his feet, but the spiritual leader simply falls down again in a deranged state, muttering to himself. As Kyoya and Tamon continue on their way they are dismayed to find that they have lost all their equipment while they were unconscious. Kyoya feels bad about leaving Kei behind, but Tamon tells him there’s no time to worry and if their to have a chance they should split up.

Tamon starts off at a Clothes shop and picks up a nearby flashlight. Sightjacking a nearby Shibito, Tamon copies the phone number of the bar it is looking at and then dials it on the Clothes shop phone. The ringing phone in the bar around the corner alerts a revolver Shibito guarding the street, as he goes in to answer it Tamon runs down the street and jumps over a wall to the Hayashi residence, heading down the left side of the house, Tamon finds a Steel Pipe to use as a weapon. Climbing up another wall and down a ladder on the other side, Tamon enters the Kondo residence via the unlocked back door. Inside Tamon Sightjacks a revolver Shibito blocking his path outside, so Tamon attaches his Record player needle to a Record player in the living room and plays a record. Tamon hides out the back until the revolver Shibito enters the living room to investigate. Tamon runs past the revolver Shibito, up the wall he was guarding and follows the path to the power transformer that supplies power to the Factory that leads to the Nests core; however Tamon is cornered by a Sniper Shibito, so Tamon has no choice but to hide and wait.

Kyoya meanwhile has made his way to the Ohyama Demolition Services workshop where he obtains a floor jack that he uses to jack up an abandoned van nearby, Kyoya crawls under the van to arrive at the Chibiki Bridge. After crossing the Bridge, Kyoya is chased up a ledge by a Crawler to a small cemetery where he finds a Hunting Rife on a gravestone. After shooting out the Crawler, Kyoya climbs up a wall into a long corridor that ends up at some stairs where after shooting out some more Crawlers, Kyoya runs down one last hallway, where he ends up at the Factory that leads into the Nest’s core. Unfortunately it is guarded by countless Snipers and Crawlers.

Meanwhile the Sniper guarding the Transformer has left his post, stealing the opportunity, Tamon races over and smashes the Transformer with his Steel Pipe, plunging the Factory into total darkness.

In his head Kyoya hears Miyako telling him to run and to use her eyesight to get past the Shibito. Using the power of Miyako’s sight, Kyoya dodges past the evil lights emanating from the Shibito and enters the Nest’s core.

The Nest/Intersection/Day 3/07:42:44

Harumi is awakened suddenly by an approaching person, fearful Harumi crawls through a hole in the wall and escapes. Kei Makino appears out of the darkness and stops when a beam of light, belonging to Shiro Miyata’s flashlight hits him. Kei then admits to Shiro that he has been nothing but a pathetic coward and fool and how if things had been different the incident may not have happened. Shiro then states that he has served his purpose and raises a Revolver to his head. However after Shiro drops his flashlight to the ground, plunging the area into darkness, Shiro adjusts his aim and shoots Kei dead instead.

The Nest/Level 2/Day 3/09:48:21

After wandering around for hours Kyoya becomes hopelessly lost within the labyrinth and sits himself down, not knowing what else to do. Yet from out of the mist comes Kei Makino who seems almost like a completely different person, putting him back on guard. Kei gives Kyoya one of the Uryen statues, telling him that his role is to destroy the Nest. Before Kyoya can question Kei further Kei leaves stating that he has a job of his own to do.

Harayadori/Yabay Settlement/Day 3/12:21:08

After leaving the Nest Shiro Miyata, now dressed as his deceased twin brother Kei Makino, makes his way to the abandoned village. Now completely deaf to sound of the Sirens, Shiro appears resolute with a Revolver grasped firmly in his hand.

Shiro heads around the Storage Shed, past Kawasaki’s house and to the bottom of Takaya’s house where he takes careful aim, and shoots a Sniper watching the area out. Shiro backtracks to the Storage Shed and onto the roof of Kawasaki’s house, where Shiro faces off with many different Shibito, including Akira Shimura, who has further mutated into a Flying Shibito. With most of the Shibito out of the way, Shiro jumps off the roof and heads down past Nakajima’s house and to the drained well. Shiro ties a coil of rope he took from Kei’s corpse around the wooden frame of the well and climbs down to a secret storage room at the bottom of the well. After shooting out a Shibito guarding some wooden crates, Shiro opens the crates to find a stash of powerful explosive grenades, perfect for his plan. With what he needs now in hand, Shiro leaves the Yabay Settlement.

Gojaku Peak/Hanuda Mine/Day 3/16:00:58

As Shiro enters the Mines he becomes extremely apprehensive as the sun begins to set. Shiro takes the Uryen out of his pocket and holds it tight, stating there is no time to loose.

With only 6 bullets left, Shiro beats down some Crawlers with his hammer and enters the Custodian shack where he finds a key for a locked gate nearby. Unlocking and proceeding through the gate, Shiro beats down may Crawlers on his way to Shaft no. 5. Entering the Shaft Shiro comes face to face with Risa Onda who takes 3 bullets to put down, whilst she is down, Shiro takes out the metal Stake he found in the hospital and with his hammer, stakes Risa to the ground. After picking up a key to the Siren Shack that Risa dropped, Shiro heads for Shaft no. 3 where he finds Mina Onda, using his last 3 bullets Shiro shoots her to the ground, unlocks and enters the Siren Shack and detonates the explosives that were set there, trapping Mina inside. Since Mina was a Shibito Brain all Crawlers in the area are subdued. With his work here done, Shiro continues on to the Mana River Floodgates.

Gojaku Peak/Mana River Floodgates/Day 3/18:05:28

After using his Grenades to blow up the Floodgates, Shiro notices at the bottom of the drained reservoir are writhing human figures, those who have rejected becoming Shibito and suffer on for decades, still alive in the depths of the red water. Shiro sympathizes with their tragedy and says he’ll end it all and their suffering.

The Nest/Near Level 1/Day 3/18:08:57

After being on her own for hours, Yoriko Anno trudges through the interior of the Nest as the Sirens blare in the distance. She spots Tamon Takeuchi in the distance and runs toward him in joy, however the floor beneath her gives way and she falls in a rain of wood and dust.

The Nest/Level 2/Day 3/18:08:59

A smiling Hisako Yao and an intimidated Kyoya Suda face off amidst the echoing Siren. Noticing the Uryen statuette in Kyoya’s hand, Hisako moves to take it but before she can a torrent of red water flies through the Nest and sends them both flying.

The Nest/Level 1/Day 3/18:09:06

After escaping the Shibito Tamon despairs to find that the Yoriko that stares at him bears an inhuman look on her face. Then from nowhere the alien like monster that attacked him and the others at the Mirror Pool earlier returns to finish the job. Just as there appears to be no way out, a torrent of red water cascades forth, sweeping away everything in its path.

Gojaku Peak/Mana River Floodgates/Day 3/18:39:58

After climbing down into the reservoir, Shiro takes out the Uryen and using his own life force as energy, he invokes the Uyren’s holy flame to free the souls of the half-Shibito that populate the Mana Riverbed. From over a great pit filled with the holy, freeing light of the Uryen Shiro spots the freed souls of Risa and Mina Onda calling to him joyfully. As Shiro manages to smile for the last time he slowly walks forward, falls into the pit and with his job done he is finally at peace.

The Nest/Mirror Pool/Day 3/20:57:55

After finally making it back to the Mirror Pool, Kyoya gazes into it, where in its surface; he sees himself and the figure of Miyako Kajiro over his shoulder. Drawing upon the power of Miyako’s blood which flows in his veins, Kyoya makes his way past the Mirror Pool.

The Nest/Near Level 3/Day 3/22:13:33

After recovering from the red water tidal wave, Tamon struggles to maintain his sense of self, in the half-destroyed Nest as he experiences the effects of mutation. From out of the darkness, 2 very familiar old voices call Tamon’s name, as he blindly makes his way to the source of the voices.

Tamon makes his way into a clearing but comes face to face with the Shibitofied Naoko Mihama who has further mutated into a powerful Crawler. Despite his flashlight being broken Tamon beats down Naoko before climbing over a wall and running past a Scrap material yard. Tamon then runs into more bad news as he comes across the Shibitofied Reiko Takato who has further Mutated into a Shibito Brain. After defeating Reiko, Tamon takes a Cassette tape she drops and returns to the Scrap material yard. Tamon heads to the top floor of the Scrap material yard and shoves a large neon sign down, off the side of the building and through the floor. Tamon heads downstairs, drops through the hole and follows the path to a ladder at the base of the Sanja Bridge. Tamon Sightjacks a Sniper at the end of the bridge and when his back is turned, Tamon climbs the ladder and unravels the tape from the Cassette he took from Reiko, he ties one end of the tape round the sign, and with the other half, Tamon descends the ladder and tugs it, pulling the sign over. The noise of the sign causes the Sniper to approach it to investigate. With the Sniper distracted, Tamon climbs the ladder on the other side of the bridge, climbs a ledge, goes through a door, and climbs a path to exit the Nest.
