Underrated

I loved this film, it was hilarious. I think it deserves higher than 6/10.

Do you remember Sammi Cheng's role in this movie?

reply

6/10 is good enough in my opinion, at least it is the rating I would give too.
I liked it too but it is decent.

This is a piece of crap and one of the worst Hong-Kong movies I´ve ever seen.

Remarks like those always make me wanna spank the writer on the head. A) He has not seen the movie, otherwise he would base his criticism on facts, not on err... nothing, B) Who cares about someone´s opinion who probably only watches HK action movies and thinks that Chow Yun-Fat ist the epitath of HK cinema. Go whine somewhere else.

The movie was funny, well acted, well directed, a surprise for a directional debut and worth watching again. Go see yourself.

Ehmm... you don't know me. Furthermore, I wouldn't make a comment like that if I had not seen the movie. Besides that, just because YOU seem to like all gay movies -I viewed your message board history-- doesn't mean they're all actually good. This movie is a boring and lame directorial debut that has amateurism written all over it. But according to you it's already good, merely because it tackles gay issues. I reckon it's fair to assume that this movie was intended as a comedy. In that light it horribly fails. Only a few utterly cliche homo jokes are remotely funny. The drama is also ridden with cliches, portrayed in an abominable manner by an uninspired cast. I actually reviewed it extensively on filmboob.nl Put the thing in an online translator if you're interested. You are the one that needs to be spanked on the head, like that guy in King of the Ants. Maybe that'll put some sense into that condescending brain of yours. Now run to your tv set, Brokeback Mountain is on!

Totally agree with you, hsiepel, before reading your post, I just posted something even harsher about this piece of crap, and I examine these aspects along the same line as yours, although with much tougher words, because that waste of cellulloid made me want to throw up. Moreover, I very much liked the last reply you made in your post, because I definitely hated Brokeback Mountain from the very beginning, I just, and will always, think that it is actually a extremely moralizing movie, and that it is the very reason why so many praised it (after all, doesn't one of the characters end bashed up to death, a falsely virtuous ending that suited many, I'm sure) And it makes me comfortable to see that there are smart people like you among this ocean of brainless people who can recognize the true intentions of a 'filmaker', or like I said in my post 'lousy film-cutter' like Stephen Fung...
