I hated this movie

I watch a lot of movies and I love comedies, but OH MY GOD this movie was horrible. It didn't flow at all and I didn't laugh at one scene. The only good thing about this movie is that it is short, like 1 hour and 15 mins or so.

Can you ecplain to all of us how you could post your review of this movie on November 25, when the movie was not available until December 1?

reply

It says here on imdb that the release date was 2 February 2005 and it was shown at Tahoe-Reno International Film Festival 25 August 2005.

And the movie did suck. Stereotyping is almost never funny.

Can you share with us when and where you saw this movie and on what basis you have come to the conclusion that "it sucks"?

"Stereotyping is almost never funny."

QUOTED FOR TRUTH.

You keep saying the version we saw at the SBIFF was a first cut and not the 'finished film'. If that's the case, then I feel that I was a victim of fraud as it was advertised at the SBIFF as the 'World Premiere' of the movie and not a screening of a first cut. Especially not happy if that's the case and I paid the most I've ever paid to see a movie, $17.50. Usually early cuts of the movie are screened for free...or at least the couple I've seen were free. I certainly wouldn't knowingly pay $17.50 to go see a first cut of the film. Not to mention you posted a positive review from this screening yourself. It sounds like you want it both ways. If the reviewer liked the first screening, then you are in favor of the reviews, but if not then you are discounting them as not having seen the 'finished film'.

I've seen a broad range of reviews for the movie from the worst to the best. As my review states, I thought it was mediocre. Some funny bits, but not a cohesive movie.

Speaking of my review, I'm currently taking action to see what I can do about it being misrepresented on buy.com's website for the sale of this film. Not only is it being used without my permission for profit, but it lists my review as a 'professional' review and I've never earned a penny from any of my reviews, so why should others be allowed to use it for profit without my permission. But it's much worse than that, it's been altered...I rank the movie 5/10, but on their site it's claiming I ranked it 7/10. They also have clipped the first and last sentence from my review. I'm not sure who's responsible for this, but it's not something I take lightly.

Direct your anger of letting go of $17.50 where it belongs. The Film Festival made the money, not the filmmakers.

You and Jeff are equally responsible as you advertised it as the world premiere here on this message board as well.

Here is another post here on IMDB where Jeff advertised the SBIFF showing as the world premiere:

The World Premiere is in Santa Barbara Feb 2. There is no distribution yet, and the producers have received film festival inquiries from all over the USA and the world. Right now everyone's efforts are focused on the premiere, and all other decisions and strategies will be discussed starting Feb 3.

Would you mind sharing with us where and when you saw the movie?

why are you so concerned with where and when everone saw it? I've had this for weeks but never finished it because I fall asleep every time. This movie is not funny and is a bore

This movie blowed...It kept making reference to men, and their obsession with sports. I don't watch sports, I couldn't give a flying *beep* who wins the super bowl or world series, and it was euphemized to the point of a PG movie. This was *beep* stupid, if this movie was meant for men, they shouldn't have made the language and the topics suitable for little children. The euphemisms weren't even funny. I hate Dave Berry now, for ruining my adoration of John Cleese.
