This had so much potential to be inspirational but what a flop!

I usually love WWII movies, especially ones about all the hardships that people went through during that time. However, this film seemed like it had three directors (none of them were good, bad angle shots and lousy actting. This over orchestrated music bothered me more than anything and it seemed almost inapproperiate at some points. By the time I got to the end of it not only did it seem completely unbelievable but lacked any ounce of inspiration. It was pretenious and extremely dramatic when it didn't need to be. I was so disappointed with this film because they could have made it into something a lot more. Even if they just eliminated the over dramatic sappy music through out the whole film I might have had actually enjoyed it...

I TOTALLY agree about the soundtrack! There's no need to rev up the intensity in EVERY scene! Seriously!

Beyond that, I just don't like the Hollywood treatment that is given to every movie on this subject, from the watering down of the cruelty to the happy ending.

I didn't think the acting was bad, though the Nazi officers were overacted and stereotypical, and the angles didn't bother me, but you're dead on about the soundtrack. It distracted and detracted from the film.

In the end this film felt very "Hallmark" to me.
