Is this related to Devilman then?

I assume from the inclusion of Devilman in the title, and the main character being called Akira, that this relates to the anime series Devilman from the 70s.

Is this correct?

It is the same character but they are doing this from the manga version with some twists in it. They are continuing I believe from Devilman OVA 1 & 2.
