I am older. I am like 20 or older. I like this show since day one.
It was 2004. It was coming to an end. There was GODZILLA FINAL WARS. A Japanese sci-fi chiller where Godzilla fights an alien invasion and numerous other monsters (even the 1998 G gets clobbered by the Japanese one). I was so into that. One day I saw the ad for the show THE HI-HI PUFFY AMI YUMI SHOW. It was eye candy. It made me fall in love with J-Pop. And made me love both kaiju eiga (Japanese for "monster movie"), and J-Pop. I noticed that it was I.A. Immitation Anime. Just like SUPER ROBOT MONKEY TEAM HYPERFORCE GO. Sam Register, the creator, was not Japanese. I listened to the songs that were shown on the show. I liked it. Their pet cats were cute, and Kaz was a total laugh riot! It left me ROTFLMAO. There were plenty of Japanes pop culture references. From card games, to immitating trains (in the episode "Kitty Kontest", Kaz was immitating a train and goes into song which is referencing a Japanese film from circa 1960's where a guy immitates a train and goes into song). The show taught me to speak Japanese a bit. Toketjama means shut up.
The show taught me how to draw anime-like characters in a basic manner that made DRAGONBALL Z, YU-GI-OH, or POKEMON look like Disney products!
The show never went downhill. So don't go beserk or something. I loved this show because of a giant lizard appreciation (common among various people).

Nice formatting. Please tell me you are 13.
The show is okay. It has some funny bits, but it is geared towards the tweener and younger crowd. I like Puffy, but there is not enough of the real thing to garner more than a passing interest in this show. I would prefer to watch Pa-Pa-Pa-Puffy if it were available in stateside reruns.

People actually use quotes from "Star Wars" as their tags in an effort to show their allegiance to that tired, poorly-made 2-hour commercial for children's toys?
