I just finished watching "Earthsea" for the first time. It was only almost as bad as some people have made it out to be. Formulaic, to be sure, but what fantasy fan doesn't like watching pretentious British actors chew the scenery?
I came to look up where I'd seen Alan Scarfe before (various incarnations of "Trek"), and so, I was able to answer your question, as it was fresh in my mind.
Isabella Rossellini was a joy to watch, in any case. I think her understated performance was this mini's saving grace. Danny Glover, on the other hand, seemed like he was phoning in a generic performance. My grandmother could have played Ogion better-- and she's been dead since 1973...
