Half the show just Baltar makeout sessions

You can seriously cut the length of time inn half with those sessions out. It seems the writers had nothing better to do so why not fill up the time with softcore Showtime channel BS that they showed in the 90s LOL

Action Scene, dramatic scene

CUT TO: Dumb blond comes into view whispering into midge Baltar's ear...make out session...kissing

Repeat for life of series

You see him fantasizing then that annoying whisper comes on for the millionth time and blondie walks into the scene

"Baalltarrr....gaiuss......God...Baltarrr.....Gaiussss"

Im trying to give this show a chance. First season started great but by the second ughh...

reply

that annoying whisper

Man, I love that whisper.

She's not a dumb blonde either. Probably way smarter than any human.

You should stop now, dude. Six and Baltar are a never-ending couple. He's a lucky guy- but you're not going to be if you keep watching and it bothers you so much to see heterosexual activity like this.

reply

By far my favorite scenes / conversations / relationship on the show!

reply

Well, yeah, I would hope you felt that way ;-)

Perhaps my favorite one of those is the one where she is walking up the stairs and sheds her clothing as she does so. Gaius had been trying to ask her serious questions and just gave up and followed with that impish look on his face.

The camera always stops short of full glory in that scene. I have always wondered how that scene looks if the editor cuts it one second longer in a certain place.

uhh, where in OP's post did he mention sexuality at all? :|

reply

There are breaks in her appearances, but those scenes do have significance in the show's overall story.

Jake Meridius Conhale, at your service!
"Old Man" of the BSG (RDM) boards.

Can someone explain to me how Baltar survived the nukes in the 1st place.
When we saw Six get resurrected, she remembers dying from a nuke explosion while holding Baltar in her arms.
How the frack Baltar survived that if she didn't?
Is he one of the hidden Cylon copies?

reply

As I undestood it she shielded him with her body and died to save him.

reply

After 4 seasons of BSG, I'm convinced everything Baltar was filler :D
I pretty much started skipping most of his scenes and haven't lost anything :D

reply

In Seasons 1-2 there is a lot of "Baltarr...Gaius...God...Baltarr....Gaius...One True God...Baltarr...Gaius..." between Baltar and Head Six, etc

But in Seasons 3-4 they do take a bit of a break from that, though there is a LOT of Baltar voice fry, half the time it's difficult understanding what the man is saying. The problem is a LOT of plot devices occur because of the Baltar & Head Six conversations, so skipping them usually means Baltar solving or creating problems on a whim.

reply

Haha, yeah I totally understand that. I would love to see a version of the show where there is no "head" Six or "head" Baltar scenes. Kind of like LOST and its flashbacks, sometimes it makes watching (let alone rewatching) tough, and can ruin the pacing of the show.

reply

If you think it gets bad during season 2, you have no tastes.

Normally I'm not all that fond of make-out scenes but on BSG it seems to serve more of a purpose than simple lovey-dovey, and sometimes I find it a little comical. At first it seemed like he was imagining all of it, then we realize he's really experiencing this in his mind ... and he's such a tool ! It's funny, but eventually it turns much more serious with bigger ramifications.
