I don't understand all the vitriol directed towards this movie. It's only a movie. I quite liked it, not for the shallow reasons of the actress' looks, but because it had a certain mood to it. An old fashioned premise. The poor niaive young girl is taken advantage of by a 'handsom' foriegner and left in the lurch. She did look truly pitiful in some scenes - a credit to the actress' talent in my view. Obviously it didn't look authentically like the 1970s, but it's a low budget movie, so one can't expect the sort of period recreation that a film like King Kong produced. I did find things a little hard to follow at times (even with subtitles) but so what? I think it's worth another look in future.

Incidentally, I saw it on a French satellite channel during one afternoon, and the nudity certainly shocked me. At that time of day I wasn't expecting to see such things. A testiment to the French open mind.
