It was actually pretty simple to destroy the space ships

it would've just taken some kamikaze people to get captured with a bunch of grenades and blow it up from the inside

That seems like a plan that people would have thought many days after the attack. What went down happened rapidly.

Why don’t you opt to do it then if the situation arrives. Love the fact it’s other people who should die to save millions. Bet you wouldn’t volunteer.

Or remote activated bombs? The tripods seemed to have an obvious weakness when isolated. Luring then into urban areas and someone running up and attaching a mine or IED to their legs would cause enough damage to fight back. Also, no mention of using nukes?

Why take the trouble to plant them on the tripods if you’re just going to remove them? I don’t see how that helps us get rid of those pesky Martian critters.

reply

Not sure what you mean

reply

In your post, you wrote "remove activated bombs". So I was just wondering why you would remove them instead of letting them blow up the tripods. Just making a silly joke for a likely autocorrect mistake.

reply

Oh Lol, yeah I meant remote activated.

The 'Osaka' reference in the film may be referencing just such a gambit. All it takes is a few good men...

That's probably what they would have done after word got around how Tom Cruise took the first one down. But there was no need because microbes killed off all of the invading aliens right after that. What a pointless and dopey post.
