Horrible Movie!!!

I rented this movie thinking it was something special. Primarily because it had Aleksei Chadov and Aleksei Serebryakov. I had seen these two in other Russian movies, and was really impressed with their acting. In this movie there were two villains: 1. the Nazis; 2. the Soviets. The story revolves around the child (Svetlana Metkina) of a White Russian emigre blackmailed by the NKVD who has been imprisoned by Stalin; a Rambo wannabe American agent (Craig Sheffer); and a Jewish scientist who both the U.S and Soviets are trying to get out of Nazi hands. The Russians' English was dubbed, and also funny that the NKVD was refered to as the KGB. It goes to show you that those who made this movie didn't know a Stalinist from their own grandmothers. The 3 Russian actors who played the soldiers were the only decent actors in the movie.

It was also amusing that Sheffer tried to get Metkina to go back to Iowa with him with "No Nazis or Bolsheviks". No Bolsheviks yes, but Iowa was a KKK infested state who've never shown their love for foreigners. AVOID THIS MOVIE AT ALL COST!!

Truthfully, the only reason I rented it was because of Svetlana Metkina, she's freaking cute.
