Kinda looked like a RAF Martin Mariner to me.

You know a movie is really bad if you can't track down a DC3 for it.

..know what you mean! The strangest DC-3 I have ever seen. Good Lord! There are still probably a couple thousand of such aircraft flying throughout the world and they couldn't get hold of one of them?

Maybe the Russians only thought it was a DC-3 before the mission... I never recall seeing the American tell the Russians what kind of plane it was. But the animation with the planes over the map seemed to imitate a DC-3. Strange...

It's actually a Russian Beriev Be-12 Chaika, which didn't enter service until 1961!
