Masterson's role?

I love Mary Stewart Masterson and am so excited to hear she is in a good movie again.
Can anyone tell me if she has a big role or not?

From what I understand, her role is pretty big. You can go here:

I love her too! I remember years ago Premiere had an article about her and said she had "great chops." To this day when I see her name I think "great chops!"

I just saw the DVD, which I feel was excellent. However, I should warn viewers who spend much of their time watching TV soaps, that you may find the dialogue too complex and involved.

Mary Stuart Masterson plays one of three sisters (plus one brother), all of them college professors. Masterson's character is the most prestigious, being considered for Chancellor of the University (U of Ga, I believe, even though the film was actually shot at the Univ of Oregon in Eugene).

"The Sisters" is more like a stage play than a film, at least as far as the adult and intelligent conversations. The story takes place (mostly) in one room, in the Faculty Lounge of the University. It easy to see that the story has been converted from a stage play to film.

I too am very fond of Mary Stuart Masterson, especially since I saw her playing Robin Gaddis in "Heaven's Prisoners." But Maria Bello is the mainstay and heart of "The Sisters."

Come on, people! You should have seen the play at some point in your education! It's one of Chekhov's greatest (and he didn't write SO many - ast least that get produced in the West!) It's a great play - that will cause your stomach to churn as you see people you yourself know (and maybe aspects of yourself) on the screen. It's an eye-opener.

I question Masterson playing someone of the age who would be considered for chancellor of a university - partly due to her actual age, partly due to how youthful she looks. But Masterson can play anything with extraordinary warmth and brilliance - and I'm excited to hear she's in this. What a lovely lovely actress she is.

Come on; he had to pilot the Enterprise too!

I thought he handled the Enterprise very well. Especially since, most of the time, the executive members of the crew were on some planet.

P.S. If I read a Chekov play, I don't remember. But THE SISTERS was excellent. Killer acting, especially from the lovely Ms. Masterson.
