fundamental plot hole (spoiler alert)!

so in the end, Pooh concludes that the central question of the story, what the mommy heffalump was doing lumbering in "their" woods and scaring them all, is answered by the fact that she was looking for her lost little Lumpy. But Lumpy did not go missing until he hooked up with Roo, as Roo found him alone at home!
What do you say to a kid who notices that the resolution of the story does not work, even in the land of make believe??
