I can't stand Costner movies...

But I LOVED this movie! I was forced to watch it. I was like great...another Costner I can't act movie. It was a little long in places, the whole relationship thing with Ashton I could have doe without, but all in all...I really liked it! I watched it three times this weekend. So not my thing to do. Yeah it was predictable, little cheezy...but aren't most movies done about our 'heros' this way?? Ladder 49, Backdraft, Top Gun, World Trade Center, most war movies...it's all good. I just wish I could have seen this in the theatre.

I saw this in the theatre and feel the same way you do. Not a fan of Costner but this film is simply amazing and inspiring.Costner is great in this flick.

The Joker: I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger.

I agree w/ you 100%! I hate Costner films, but have heard so much good things about this film that I'm going to get it and watch it.

I don't understand it. Hate is such an evil horrid word. Kevin Costner does his level best to make movies to please. He cannot help it if you have a grudge against him personally, which is totally rediculous in the first place. You went in to see this movie with total hate and you enjoyed it after all. You should change your tune and enjoy more of his movies. He's a great actor and director. Give him a decent chance.

Costner's good movies: The Untouchables, Field of Dreams, The Guardian, Tin Cup, 3000 Miles to Graceland

Costner's bad ones: The rest (although I haven't seen them all Thank God).

Put Dirty Harry in the IMDB top 250!

Watch Costner sometime in Silverado. It does not even seem like the same guy! He is just so joyfully alive!
I liked him in The Postman. Yeah, I know, it does not seem to have won friends and influenced people, but.....I liked it anyway.
I just don't like it when he is all earnest.

Other good Costner movies are A Perfect World, and No Way Out.

And I also liked JFK.

round and round the Winchesters go

Open Range and Dances with Wolves are great movies in my opinion.

Forced? You should have asked them to pull the trigger and save you the agony; and reduce a KC's Not fan club by one. Two bird in one!
KC has some good movies and some not so good. Like almost any good actor. Only a few people i can think of that i have liked every one of their movies. Anthony Hopkins, Robert Duvall ...
