Cliches in this movie (spoilers)

Hi!

The Coast Guard is a service that's worthy of praise, and there's nothing wrong with cliches... even Star Wars has an orphan. But there's something a bit too obvious and generic about some of the themes in The Guardian.

Thus, a list of cliches in The Guardian.

* * MAJOR SPOILERS * *

1. Hero feels guilty over deaths not his fault
2. Hero feels guilty over deaths not his fault (again!)
3. Romantic couple swear they won't fall in love, but do
4. Bar fight breaks out for no reason
5. Bet placed on picking up a woman
6. First meet of couple immediately falls into way too snarky banter
7. The wire won't hold us both!
8. Nothing I do pleases my father figure!
9. My job is my other marriage! Neglected wife leaves.
10. Kevin Costner in a lot of water

What can you add?

I did enjoy the movie. The theme I felt was the least cliche was the one where Jake learns to care about people not just himself.

I enjoyed reading this, lol. They're airing the film on TV right now. I don't think I can add any more clichés XD You did a pretty good job at covering everything.

Turns into a ghost story
Rap music at the end with words specifically written about subject content - I mean c'mon
Resign post to die for last mission
Photos of crews at end
In memory at end
Whole film sucked

It was a good production overall I liked the actors but the story itself was one complete cliché.
