Why was she following Mrs. Hillman?

Never understood why jessica alba got out of her bed at like 2 in the morning to following mrs hillman, someone she doesnt even know. I ask myself, why does she care? why is she getting involved?

I found this to be just a cheap way to scare someone but it totally lacks logic

She hears these gurgling sounds, then the respirator stops. Then, she hears Mrs. Hillman talking, so not knowing wtf is going on at this point, she goes out to the hall to see what's going on. By that point, she'd been in that room for quite a long time. And sometimes curiosity wins out.

It's understandable when you consider Mre Hillman appears to be making these "unhealthy" noises and there's absolutely no one in the friggin hospital to assist.

Does this hospital only employ staff during daylight hours? There's about 3 different scenes in the movie where there appear to be absolutely no staff in the ward/on the floor at night.🐭
