That look in his eyes...

Watch the scene where Timurovic pretends to be seduced by Evilenko and tell me, is it not absolutely terrifying?
The way Evilenko's expression gradually changes, his face transforming itself into a diabolical stare, a ruthless and cold countenance.
It gave me goosebumps.
What a great job by Malcolm McDowell.
The man never fails to impress me.
I have always been a fan, but seeing his acting in this film (which is a bit shocking though well-made) reaffirmed my opinion that he is one of the best actors of our time.

I was looking for this film for over a year, and managed to rent it and watch it a couple of days ago.
Don't miss it if you have the opportunity to get it.

I think I must have one of those faces you can't help believing.

I agree McDowell tries his best, but what really gave me goosebumps was how bad this scene was written.
Like a policeman is getting naked, starting to jerk off the suspect and let the suspect bite his neck just to get a confession. That's what I would expect from a porn movie, not from a thriller "based on a true story".

I suggest you watch "Citizen X". If you liked this film, Citizen X will blow you off your chair. Without the use of cheap semi-psychobabble!

This film wasn't "based on a true story" but rather based on a work of fiction that was loosely based on the Chikatilo case. The book, Il comunista che mangiava i bambini or The Communist Who Ate Children, was written by Evilenko director, David Grieco.

There's bound to be differences between the real life case and the film just as there were differences between the real life Gein case and the Railsback film, Ed Gein.

McDowell's portrayal of Evilenko was extremely interesting. Though there were some instances in the film that could have been improved, it was still a great film.

I have to agree...as much as I liked MM's performance, that scene nearly made me break my television in it's stark ridiculousness...but having said that, it also provided MM with an opportunity to really go "balls out"....so I give it points on MOXIE alone...a scene so absurd it's worth seeing the film just for it!

He's definitely an amazing actor and nothing but him made this film watchable. Too bad he hasn't been successful enough and he has to play from time to time in some c*r*a*p...
