A poor medium...

I think, for those who dislike this film, it's paramount to remember that this was originally written for the stage. Having seen the 1999 Madison Square Garden production, and now performing as a female Ghost of Christmas Present, I think the music and book of the show are lovely. However, it's a format that I think does not translate well onto the screen. A well-done, though predictable, musical example of "A Christmas Carol" is "A Muppet Christmas Carol". Here, the music and plot show depth that the stage musical for THIS version doesn't necessitate.
