better score than Albert Finney movie

The score is much superior and more intelligent than the Albert Finney musical movie version of CHRISTMAS CAROL.

Also Finney played the central character in a musical with a pinched cracked voice, bent over.

I've never been a great Kelsey Grammer fan. But he does have a glorious singing voice which is put to good use here.

For a musical, tho, this TV movie version might have gone more exuberant for the closing sequence. How much more would it have added to the budget to have Scrooge bring toys for all the children?

I enjoyed the songs, but the rest of it was on the clunky side.

Jason Alexander is good, but miscast here. Marley's part is supposed to be scary, not comical.

It wasn't clear to me in parts if they were doing a spoof intentionally.

They also changed a lot of details from the book.

Are you trying to provike a reaction? If so, mission accomplished! There is literally not one song in this show that compares favorably to the songs in the Albert Finney musical.

Are you really trying to tell us that you think that Mr. Fezziwig's Annual Christmas Ball is better than December the 25th?!? And I would think it literally impossible to think that Dancing on Your Grave - or any song in this - is even half as good as Thank You Very Much.

My words exactly! The Christmas Ball song was atrocious and cringe-worthy, and the entire Ghost of Christmas Yet-to-Come sequence was abysmal! And whose stupid idea was it to not make the Future Ghost a phantom in a black cloak, but instead a cranky old lady with nothing scary or mysterious about her at all???

I know you are joking here. This is the worst pile of garbage with the most non-musical songs in the history of cinema. Everyone associate with this cesspool should be ashamed to have their name listed.

I think you need your hearing checked. Not only were the songs not as good as the ones in the Finney version, they came nowhere close to the great songs that were in the animated Mister Magoo version!

Yes, I actually LIKE the Mister Magoo version!
