Best 'Christmas Carol'

I can see that many of you hate this adaptation of Dickens' "Christmas Carol", and, to be honest, I don't really understand why! I absolutely loved it! I think this is one of the best adaptations of this story, so far! The atmosphere is great (especially in the graveyard scene), and the music sounds great (better than that of "The Phantom of the Opera" and other musicals, anyway!).

Never sight for a better world:
It's already composed, played and told...

Some people can't handle musicals very well. They can't follow them for some weird reason so maybe that's why ppl are bashing it so bad. I loved it. I thought it was the best Christmas Carol I've ever seen.

I clicked on your post to see if Best 'Christmas Carol' was followed by 'starring Kelsey Grammar', since that seemed to be the only way you could end the sentence truthfully. Alas, such was not the case!

In all honesty, though, I just saw this version again last night, for the first time in a couple of years. I don't agree with the people who hate it, but for me it's nowhere near the top of the list of best versions of this great, great story.

I have to add, too, that as a musical version, while it has a couple of good songs, it doesn't measure up to the Albert Finney version, the Muppet version, or even Mr. Magoo's. My opinion, of course.

I just checked my Desktop calendar to make sure we're in the year I thought we were in. And indeed, it is 2016 and that post you replied to is 11 years old. Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling you out or anything - I'm just a bit shocked that this thread is somehow still alive, haha.

Yeah, I noticed that the post was 11 years old - I was hoping that you'd still be on IMDb to see the response!
