Pretenders

I remember this show from 1972 on Sunday afternoons and liked it. The plot concerning two children who may or may not be related to the Duke of Monmouth who is leading a rebellion against King James II is the main theme of the series as they search for him across the ravaged English countryside. They are pursued by General Kirk and his Royalist soldiers and the children are aided by the German gunner Joachim who came here as a soldier to fight for the Duke! But the children, Elam and Perfect, soon lose the respect of the self serving Duke and try to escape the battles and destruction with Joachim!
