Synopsis

On the winding and fog-enshrouded streets of London, the sinister being known only as Mr. Hyde terrorizes the city in a haunting spree of mayhem and murder. With the populace in a panic, the legendary monster hunter Van Helsing arrives in London on a mission to track down and capture the elusive Mr. Hyde.

Starring Hugh Jackman as the voice of Van Helsing, this original animated film will thrill you with cutting edge visuals and non-stop adventure. Experience a Van Helsing adventure that takes place before the events of the blockbuster film! \

The reason for Mr. Hyde making a cameo in Van Helsing inspired me to write a pre-LXG story An Odd Acquaintence. Abraham Van Helsing (a few years younger than he was in Bram Stoker's Dracula novel), is called to the Rue Morgue to catch Hyde (before Hyde hulked out) because Hyde was killing prostitutes, and then Van Helsing meets Jekyll. Van Helsing fails to capture Hyde, so in 1899 Hyde is captured by Allan Quatermain. Takes place almost a year after the Jekyll and Hyde novel, after Jekyll fakes death and takes residence in France. My story is related to LXG, Van Helsing only inspired the story.

I think it's just wrong to have Robbie Coltrane voice Hyde in VH, I mean, Coltrane played Hagrid in Harry Potter and I can't imagine him voicing Hyde. Jason Flemyng would do better for voicing Hyde since he played that character and being a sexy Dr. Jekyll in LXG. Oh well, guess Jason will have to wait for LXG 2 to be Jekyll and Hyde again.

I know this is prolably the wrong subject, or post area, but is there really going to be an LXG2?

James Dale Robinson had better not be writing it again. Good cast, good director, good effects, but the script was so awful it cancelled them out. Yeah, sure, some parts of the comic wouldn't be filmable, but that's still no excuse for making something smart into something idiotic.

Yeah, I`m afraid LXG was very promising, but failed to impress... Still, the movie all-in-all deservs a B for the idea and the cast. Let`s hope the sequel will be worthy, it deserved a second chance! Hold it! LXG did worse than Van Helsing and it has a sequel?! No fair!... What sort of a twisted world is this?!

About Robbie Coltrane-- His voice is perfect for Hyde, he`s a great actor!

Also interesting to see that Robbie Coltrane who voiced Mr Hyde in the movie, also voiced him here. But moreinteresting is that Dwight 'Howling Mad Murdock' Schultz is the voice of Dr Jekyll. A nice piece of work, if a little too short.
