Unreal Tournament: the movie! My idea! Please tell me what you think.

OK here is my idea. I think it would be pretty cool if UT was turned into a movie.

A man, Russell Goodwin, fights to revenge the death of his family in Unreal Tournament where the murderer is also fighting. Russell begins his training and prepares to kill the murderer. He begins making his own guns and making his own rules and when he finally goes into battle he turns out to be surprisingly good! In the deathly Tournament Russell makes friends with Jack, a fellow competitor on his team who soon helps him and becomes his best friend but is later killed when helping his team. When Russell sneaks out one night the murderer finds him and Russell soon finds out what a battle he is in for after nearly being killed! In the next few battles Russell begins to go crazy as he not only wants revenge but he wants to win as well! Defeating the murderer seems harder than he expected and soon his team begin to give up hope. Finally when Russell gets the chance he’s been waiting for and he and his enemy face off in the temple where one of them will die and Unreal Tournament will end.

What do you think?

1. It would be good, but the design of the weapons suffered a major breakdown between UT99 and 2003, so I would go along with the original design. Same goes for the character models and armors - they were perfect in 99 and embarrassing in 2003/2004...

2. To make the movie even more dark, let's make the game against the killer not the final, but the semi-final of the tournament. He wins, goes crazy about it and even though he got his revenge, he wants to win and then dies in the final. That would be shocking.

OR

He wins the semi-final, realizes that revenge didn't redeem him, he feels pain and doesn't want to fight and kill anymore, but the directors of the tournament doesn't want him to quit and they threaten him to kill him if he doesn't play in the final. Then he either lets them kill him or plays in the final, but doesn't kill his opponent, who then kills him.

Of course, this would need a competent director, who can portray the character's inner struggles adequately, and at the same time, he could direct stunning and awesome action-sequences - all with UT99 design!

:) I like both your idea's. I think the first one would probably be the best but the second idea was also pretty cool. How about this? Then we can fit the second idea in there as well!

This may be a bit like Gladiator!

Russell fights the killer in the semi-final and wins. He goes a little crazy as he desperately wants to fight in the final but his insticts force him to leave and go home. We all think he isn't going to come back but when the final battle begins guess who comes back? Russell makes a promise to his soldiers that he will stay in Unreal Tournament but he is unexpectedly killed at the end.

I think Russell crowe or George Clooney could be the perfect Russell What do you think?

You're looking at my siganture!

George Clooney in full armor, holding a Flak Cannon...?
Weird

I think I would choose Ron Pearlman, Bruce Willis, Vin Diesel or Kiefer Sutherland. This Russell is not a bad-ass character, just an everyday man, who wants revenge in the tournament.

What do you think about the design? 99, 2004 or UT3?

The graphics are pretty good on UT4 but I've never played it. I've only got the 1999 one. Is 2004/2003 worth buying?

Yeah that's basically it but in the end he does become bad ass!

I think 2003 and 2004 are major downgrades. They failed in every area. The gameplay and the style of the graphics is way better in the original than in them. I can't stop playing the original since 2002 (that was the year I got to know this game), but 2003 and 2004 were disappointing. Judging by the screenshots and gameplay videos, UT3 isn't any better than them. So, if you ask me, don't ever buy 2003 or 2004!

Have u got MSN? We could play UT99 someday... Just send me a PM if you want to!
