This movie was pretty bland.

I don't even know why they tried to make it look like the 70s because it looked like the 90s. It was just a terrible movie with sub par actors.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

Most of the time I like movies about a character going though a life change but I agree the movie was lame.

Seriously? I loved it. The Nearing family was suffering. Henry and his dad went through a huge changes. Not so sure about the bohemian brother. Gregory Smith is really talented. Ashley Johnson was great. I think it was marketed wrong, the dvd cover 'Hookup with Hottest Girl' When in reality its small part of the film. It was coming of age film.

I'm with you Sasuga.

Gregory Smith is really talented and it wasn't at all about hooking up. It was about a family struggling with loss.

You are right that it was a coming of age story. Part of growing up is making a decision about someone like Merna vs. someone like Grace.

The book was actually called Nearing's Grace. Which makes more sense, because it wasn't about the character Grace at all.

I agree with the OP that this move was mediocre at best. All the characters were unlikable and Jordana Brewster pissed me off with her "I'm a hot girl and I don't have to do anything to get a guy" attitude. Do something intelligent, creative, or meaningful. Oh, you can't do that? You can only suck c-cks? Pathetic.
