I didn't understand Grace's motive?

Why did she toy with him like that? It didn't seem like she was serious about him. Was she just trying to make her boyfriend jealous?

Grace was a big ol' tease...she also later admitted to Henry that she was only with the other guy because he promised to buy her a car, right?

The step-father was buying her a car, not the boyfriend. She said "BJ" was buying her a car, Lance was the boyfriend. And at the prom Lance talked about asking her to marry him and them drinking champagne by the pool with "BJ and her mom". Don't you people pay attn when watching movies?
