trivia about the movie

Maybe someone with better memory than myself can help me with this. I am answering some sort of trivia about french movies, and about this one, the question is:

" As whom is the vagabond mistaken as?"

and the options are:

As Phillipe himself

The lover of Senta´s mother

The boyfriend (perhaps "the groom")

I think none of the options is correct... If I remember correctly, the vagabond is only mistaken as another vagabond, not as anyone else.

I am quite confused with this question.
