question about the end

this is a stupid question, but since i'm not a native french speaker, i didn't understand the last 2 minutes of the film, which was very frustrating because i got all the rest. what was the dead girl doing in the closet wearing the bridesmaids dress?!?!

Me I'm french and it's the english I don't understand very good. If my memory is good, the dead girl in the "placard" is a girl who was in school with her, and she kill her because she was "jalouse" or something like that. But it's not the end...

i saw the movie last night. i think the body in the wardrob is senda's schoolmate who was in love with senda's boyfriend that time. so senda killed her and be her cuz it is easy for her to disguise other's voice. and now senda think if she knew philippe earlier, she won't have killed her ex boyfriend cuz she realise now it is philippe that she loves the most. philippe was quite astonished at her words but pacified her whilst the guys (the police) saying "finding her" outside the window. i think maybe the police mean finding the insane or finding the murderer?! i prefer the latter. and philippe, i don't know what's in his mind, maybe love prevails everything!

In the original book the Philippe character has fallen in love with her to such an extent this is a tragic ending - as if to say that, yes, she will be caught, but he will be with her and will never leave her again - despite the fact she is a murderer. (And, yes, the girl is the school friend who was missing).

Who the hell was Flora though and what was the reason of his obsession? Does anyone know? He was quite weird himself
...

I just saw the movie. "Flora" is the bust from their garden that they present to Gerard. It was given by Philippe's dad to his mom, and Gerard once remarked that it looked like Philippe's mom.

But I have no idea why Philippe was so obsessed with that bust. He steals it from Gerard's courtyard, keeps it beside him while working, sleeps with it, hides it on leaving, or kisses it. That is one weird side of an otherwise good character that the director did not really shed light on.

Thanks,

I thought they said that Flora resembled SENTA.

Yes, Phillipe remarks to his younger sister that Senta looks like Flora.
