This is the WORST movie I have seen in years.

No joke. The dialogue, the acting, the directing, everything was so laughable that I just couldn't take my eyes away from the train wreck that was unfolding before me.

I wanted to turn it off sooooo badly, but just couldn't. And the laughs kept coming. For a "thriller" this has such an anti-climatic ending, it's worst than jacking off into your breakfast cereal. Think about it.

Wow. I'd rather watch National Lampoon's Golddiggers (which I did turn off) than this piece of crap again. And my roomate and girlfriend both agree, so I know I am not alone on this one.

And I like Blair - she's hot. So is Harmon. And Slater, although very nearly always pathetic, has had some gems (Pump Up the Volume for one). So it is not bias talking here.

Do not rent, buy, or download this crap-o-rama. Trust me. (I am so glad that I merely downloaded it, and didn't actually spend my own money on it).

Avoid this like the goddamn plauge.

So wrong, dude. I saw one that was worse this weekend that I'm sure you would like..."Highway" also with Selma Blair. Her acting talent was abused in THAT piece of crap film(which I'm sure you'd love)and showcased in this interesting film.

Liking this film requires:

1)An interest in something other than sex.
2)Knowledge of the world outside.

By the way, when your filling up your car today....remember this film. Ya, dude, it matters.

reply

the movie tries to sound serious but just because it involves serious stuff doesn't make it a good movie. the script was crappy and acting was just ok. nothing suprising or interesting really happens imho.

reply

This is definitely not the worst i've seen. Try Jude Law in 'Existenz'.
I must admit it isn't the best i've seen but it did have a message to it about the iraq war and the pursuit of oil etc. That was at least revelant in today's society.

reply

AGREED.... my buddy and I were watching this and we turned it off also.
It was soooo bad..I like your description of watching a train wreck..
When his (Slaters) co-worker stoops down to pick up her dropped papers/folder to
evesdrop on his phone conversation...that was it!! We decided to watch a
rerun of a 'Wire' episode...thank God...Really bad this movie is!

reply

I concur with ya Leroy ... too bad I actually spent $4 bucks on a rental; Oh, well, at least after 10 rentals I get a free one, so this is just another to add to my 10.

I picked this movie because of Christian Slater, Why? the reason is that I've seen many of his thrill category movies like "Hard Rain" "Hard Cash" "Mind Hunters", and some others... they were good to see though. But to tell you the truth about this movie... A totally F-ed up movie full of fake acting + loads of boring scenes... However there are people who like such type of movies... But trust me its not a movie for enjoyment....

I bought the original dvd for 3.8$ here in Romania . Why would you rent it for 4$ ???

While I didn't see any walls move when the doors closed, I did notice that in the "chase" scene, Slater is driving a top-down convertible in the rain. Also, the rain falling on the chase car is heavier than the rain falling on Slater's.

I am not one to nit-pick movies, but this was glaring.

nowhere near as good as "Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter".

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

May I recommend the latest episode of Tele Tubbies for you less educated people? This movie is a masterpiece and tackles issues that are far more relevant to your life than you think.

reply

Colin, I really hope that you posted that as a 'wink-wink' that it is so bad.

I rented this and it was so bad that I even went against my programming and returned it to the video store asking for a different movie...and if you knew my history of working at a video store, you'd know that I find that behavior reprehensible.

Seriously, there are Lifetime movies that are more gripping than this.

reply

OMG, I am SO with you on returning it!!! I worked at a video store, too, and NEVER ask for a refund or anything, but this movie was just awful, so I think I did something similar when it came out. Sure, it tackles some relevant issues, but when it's garbage, it's garbage...Ever since this movie, I sneer at anything Christian Slater does...I can't even watch 10 seconds of My Own Worst Enemy without flashing back to this movie...If I remember correctly, Slater helped to write or produce the flick, so since this flick, I have been a Slater-hater...and this is from someone who *loves* Cletis Tout, True Romance, and so many others...

reply

Wow, it's been 5 years since I first posted about this movie. In that time, I've gotten married, graduated from college, moved to a different state, and started a career. Also in that time, this film has remained perhaps the WORST movie I've ever seen.

My roommate, with whom I watched this lucid nightmare, still quotes the Robert Loggia scene towards the end - "well *beep* you!" *beep* me indeed, for wasting precious moments of our short lives on this utter piece of horse *beep*

Oh the horror.

Not a bad flick, low budget, but it's ok.
