Did anyone else say this at the screen when Chris was talking about David Blane. Yes he is best known for his moronic stunts but he is far from a trickless magician. Didn't Chris do any research on Blane before slamming him on an HBO special? His street tricks are just as famous I mean for christ sake he has a F*^%in levitation trick Chris!
I love Chris Rock and am in NO way a fan of David Blane but c'mon get your facts straight.
Well, to me, I thought it was accurate. Sure, Blaine does do tricks, but when's the last time you saw him do any? Honestly, I haven't seen him do any in a good few years.
Besides, thousands of people didn't watch his tricks, they watched his stunts, which are trickless. That's probably what Chris meant.
I mean, what's funnier? "How dumb are we to fall for a trickless magician?" or "How dumb are we to fall for a magician who ocassionally does tricks, but is mostly a stuntman?"
It was just quicker and funnier to call him a trickless magician, rather than explain it.
He shouldn't have done the joke period. Like I said he is mostly known for his moronic stunts but he does tricks. The materiel isn't funny if you know it's not accurate. No the line "Are we so dumb to fall for a magician who occasionally does tricks but is mainly a stuntman" isn't any good you're right. That's no excuse to make fun of him based on false facts. Why didn't he just make fun of the stunts themelves instead of using the term "trickless magician" over and over again? That's my annoyance with it..
OMG get over it. It is a STAND-UP COMEDY. A LOT of the stuff isn't real what he says. It's called COMEDY. It's to make people laugh. I laughed. It made other people laugh. I don't know about you, but everyone who saw it was prolly laughin and you were probably one of the few people who thought about it. If you're not a David Blaine fan then why are you whining about it? Hello, common sense...
