Wer den Film noch nicht gesehen hat...

Diesen Film muss man einfach gesehen haben! Es ist Wahnsinn, was Johanna Wokalek und Til Schweiger hier geleistet haben. Die kindliche Leila nimmt man Johanna genauso ab, wie Til den liebenswürdigen Versager Nick.
Die Story ist so wunderschön, denn man kann lachen und weinen gleichzeitig und das ist etwas, was wohl kaum ein Film bei seinen Zuschauern erreicht. Man geht aus dem Kino und ist so unendlich glücklich und beginnt die Welt vielleicht mal wieder aus einem anderen Blickwinkel heraus zu betrachten...

Also, wer diesen wunderbaren Film noch nicht gesehen hat – geht, schaut ihn euch an. Ihr werdet euch danach anders fühlen. Auf eine ganz schöne Art und Weise glücklicher.

Ok,totally agree with Jo, I LOVED the movie, it made me laugh, made me smile, made me cry. I came out happy. And I'm not a press agent and didn't get registered. It's a great movie.

I didn't want to sound like the press agent or something like that. As missgoddness1907 said, I too, really fell in love with this film. It may be true that I wasn't very objective with my kind of review but have you already seen the film? I think you would be at least a bit impressed too, so if you haven't already: Watch "Barfuss".

I sounded like the press agent too after having seen this film and i registered as well right after it. It truly is one of the best german movies i have ever seen. Sad, funny and lovely at the same time. Good work from Till Schweiger!

Well, I registered quite a while ago, and although I prefer to comment only on those movies I love rather than hate, I guess I could be seen as quite objective. Well, objective for a german commenting on one of those rare german movies, that is. Barfuss (whose title should normally be written "barfuß" - but I guess this was to prevent more problems than necessary on the international market) is a true gem! I spent a great time in one of the worst seats the cinema had to offer, astonished how great some of "our" actors can be. I started to fear, that the only good movies coming from here would be about hitler or his enemies...but here is a movie, which manages to criticize a little, lets us laugh all the time, uses some clichés and only great actors (not only the main ones...all of them are perfoming almost perfectly). To sum it up, there is not a single weak scene, and every single one of the actors will be worth the money and time you spent.
All this assuming, the english version will be just as good as the german one - but although being german may make it easier to understand some minor aspects, everyone else should enjoy his time just as well.

I totally agree with you El_Burro, but I would say sometimes it'll be a bit difficult to translate some of the scenes into English.
For example, the scene where Nick is in the office of Dr. Blöchinger (I love her performance) and he says "Ich liebe sie." He can neither say "I love you" nor "I love her" as it both wouldn't fit with the rest of the conversation.
But however, I'm sure they will find a solution but nevertheless I'm a bit curious about how they'll manage it.

er hat gesagt "ich liebe sie" aber wissen wir nicht wenn es ist "Sie" oder "sie"-die erste für förmlich(zum Dr. Blöchinger-weil sie hat gesagt "mit mir?")und die andere für die englisch für "her."
he said "ich liebe sie" but we don't know if it's "Sie" or "sie"-the first is formal (to Dr. Blöchinger-that's why she says "with me?") and the other is for "her." the German language has both a formal "you" and and an informal "you." the formal "you" is "Sie" which sounds just like "sie," the German for "her" or "she."

It is. I've seen it some days ago and I immediately fell in love with this film. Before I had seen it, I didn't like Johanna Wokalek, because I had seen her only once in the Akademietheater (Vienna) when she played Emilia Galotti and I didn't think she acted well. My german teacher said that that showed how boring the character of Emilia Galotti is, but I thought that she (my teacher) just wanted me to think that J.Wokalek is a good actress, because she (my teacher) likes her a lot.
But now - having seen Barfuss - I think she's a really good actress.
I didn't like Till Schweiger either. Since I am from Austria it drives me crazy to hear most of the german actors/actresses talking. But T.Schweiger is the first German whose accent didn't bother me much.

This film is really, really incredible. You can feel how much the actors love the film, the story and their characters in every single scene.

And it was the first film since The Return of the King that made me cry in the end, although I knew that

I really loved the film. I went to the cinema, not really expecting much, especially since I don't usually like the perfomances of Schweiger, but this movie is great.

What I found particularly amazing is, that there are no "real" bad characters in it. In a Hollywood production there would have been a carrier hooked doctor or a mother/father who doesn't really care, but in this movie even the initially arrogant brother or the snotty step-father have some human character traces.

And the performance of Johanna Wokalek is amazing!!!

Hallo!

Ich habe den Film gestern mit einer Bekannten angesehen - und könnte ihn mir gleich noch mal ansehen.
Er ist unglaublich toll!

Die Schauspieler sind absolut klasse - bis in die kleinste Nebenrolle super besetzt!
Einige Szenen sind zwar sehr vorhersehbar, dies schadet dem Film aber insgesamt (seltsamerweise) überhaupt nicht. Man sitzt im Kino und wischt sich die Tränen aus den Augenwinkeln - mal vor Lachen, mal vor Rührung.
Die Musik dazu ist immer passend ausgewählt.
Sogar im Abspann, neben den Widmungen für Frau (die ebenfalls mitspielte) und Kinder, einige witzige Bemerkungen! Und weil man sich denkt, "was? schon aus?? - Schade!!-Ich will mehr!!" blieben wir (wie viele andere auch) noch sitzen und haben diese auch noch mitbekommen.

Ein herzliches "Danke schön" und grosses Lob an Til Schweiger, dass er diesen Film gemacht hat. Hoffentlich kommen mehr dieser Art!!

Von mir auf jeden Fall die volle Punktzahl!!

Ich finde den Film auch verdammt gut, von der Atmosphäre her ist der klasse, Til Schweiger und vor allem sein weiblicher Gegenpart geben ne richtig gute Figur ab. Vor allem der Retro-Look hat mir sehr gefallen. Hatte manchmal zwar wieder diesen typisch deutschen Brechstangenhumor, aber sonst echt gut!

Der Retro-Look macht überhaupt keinen Sinn, sondern nur eine von vielen wahllosen Ideen die hier verpanscht wurden, aber alle auf keinen gemeinsamen Nenner kommen. Die beiden geben überhaupt keine gute Figur ab. Till hat sich hier diesselb Schnutenrolle hnigeschrieben, die er immer spielt und der weiblich Gegenpart ist für 5 Minuten lustig, aber dann gibt es keine Weiterentwicklung mehr (naja sehr platt halt).

Der Film ist leider einfach nur unerträglich halbgar mit ein bisschen Feelgood-Musik und einem Retro-Look, der den Hauch des besonderen ausmanchen soll, aber einfach nur peinlich wirkt wenn es eine so platte Sotry eintüncht. Nene gebt dem Film die 5, die er verdient, sonst macht ihr euch doch echt nur lächerlich, wenn ihr ihn mit anderen Filmen in der 7'er Kategorpe einordnet.

warum kaesst du anderen nicht ihre meinung, sondern versuchst, auch noch wertungen vorzuschreiben. dir hat er nicht gefallen, gut. mir und einem haufen anderer leute hat er gut gefallen. ende der durchsage. lass uns unsere meinung und wir lassen dir deine.

Ok, ich mach' mich jetzt also total peinlich lächerlich, indem ich dem Film 'ne 8 gebe :-P
